Caffè Anselmi In Verona

I was surprised by the relatively low rating of this restaurant, but we were very satisfied here. Both with service and with food and drink. Someone complained about the higher prices...everyone has the option to leave if something seems overpriced.

Friendly and well-trained staff, not to mention the fact that they are extremely professional both in their ways of doing things and in their service. Highly recommended

The grilled chicken was not fully cooked but I enjoyed the 90% I ate . The salad and gnocchi were good too. It would be nice it they didn’t let strangers com up to guests and ask for money while your eating. I never return when the owners allow that . If they can prevent that in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil they can prevent it here in Verona Italy and provide a better experience for the clients.

I had a coffee at the counter, excellent service and very good coffee! Given the location of the bar, the cost of coffee is normal without the surcharges that are sometimes found in some places in historic centers

Very pleasant server when we first arrived and sat down attentive and friendly. We were happy with our food first but I found a long hair in mine. it was in my mouth before i found it, not sure if it came with the dish or with the bread that was served with the dish. I quietly called the server to tell him he shook his head and said something about the kitchen wear hair nets, he spoke to me in Italian so I presume that is what he was saying as he was pointing at his head and shaking it. His English seemed to have left him when he was describing to me that he didn't believe the hairin my dish. He took the dish away but never said if he was going to replace it or what he was going to do? After about 20 minutes we asked for the bill as there was no new dish coming for me. The dish was on the bill so we asked for it to be removed as we were not going to pay for a dish that I couldn't eat. I found them very very unprofessional. We were enjoying ourselves but couldn't stay for dessert or a drink after that because we felt extremely uncomfortable. It was unfortunate as it was our last night and we would have been quite happy to just stay and take a replacement meal as we were not out to cause a fuss

After visiting (must see?) Juliet's balcony, we had a short walk to beautiful square called Piazza delle Erbe. Of course these places are made for tourists and prices are higher than few blocks away, but considering their perfect location near many of the most important sights in Verona, they weren't too overpriced. Wine was good and came with complimentary snacks
