Cafe Del Tasso In Bergamo

At the recommendation of two friends, I dined at this beautiful restaurant last week. The welcome I received from owner Marcello and the very sweet Giulia was brilliant. We all asked for advice on the house specialties, and the result was a delicious dinner that made the evening wonderful. I had the hearty house rigatoni and the delicious casoncelli, accompanied by an excellent red wine. My friends had different dishes, but everyone was equally satisfied at the end of the meal. The success of this cuisine and its kind custodians is evidenced by the numerous photos and drawings hanging on the restaurant's walls, left by famous diners of owner Marcello and his dishes. The culinary excellence and gracious hospitality will make us return often. Luca, Federica, Valerio, Irene, John, Erin, Marcela, and Torstein.

Very tasty dishes, excellent aperitif menu with several delicious appetizers, fresh salad, and truly special traditional dishes with beef and polenta. The staff was very courteous and friendly, good value, and seating both outside in the square and inside...with a more intimate atmosphere. Very satisfied...

Caffè Tasso is located in città alta Bergamo up town in the city centre. The location is amazing and perfect place to have aperitivo in Spring or summer with great vibes of the town facing the clock tower. They serve good beer and wine and do aperitivo. Also a good place for nice breakfast or a quick lunch during a nice sunny day.

A charming venue located in the most charming square in upper Bergamo. Spacious inside, it reaches its peak perfection on the outdoor seating area, where you can enjoy the stunning view. The service is professional and friendly. You can also eat here, but we opted for a simple but excellent aperitif, served with fresh appetizers alongside essentials like chips and peanuts. The venue is part of the "Locali Storici d'Italia" association, which brings together long-established public establishments with celebrated traditions, capable of reinventing themselves while maintaining their original charm.

We had a pleasant time sitting on the terrace. The staff was initially very friendly. We asked for recommendations and decided on the polenta with cheese and a selection of regional dishes. The food was very disappointing. The polenta was very bland, almost an insult, and the selection of three regional dishes was also inadequate in terms of taste; it didn't look freshly prepared. Poor value for money! The beer was flat, and the wine wasn't worth its €7. All in all, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Great atmosphere and service. Very very very reasonable priced considering the location. A beautiful place in the middle of an amazing square.

Historic café in the heart of Bergamo Alta. A welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Tasty and easy-to-digest traditional dishes. Efficient and prompt service. Highly recommended.

A typical Italian restaurant, with a small welcome, but the food—at least what we ordered—wasn't mind-blowing, but maybe we lucked out. We'll check again next time.
