Cabane Du Combal In Courmayeur

Perfect location to relax. It's a shame that most of the people who come up here, being a simple climb on a mule track, are not people who love the mountains and respect nature. I've seen it all. Friendly and polite staff, the food is good as in all refuges. It's worth the 2 hour walk also for what there is to see around.

This property is located very close to Lake Combal and from here, in addition to other walks, you can reach Lake Miage on foot in about 15 minutes following an easy path. Lake Miage has undergone constant change over the years, mainly due to the excessive melting of the glaciers. Truly wonderful in the past it has slowly shrunk and unfortunately it will continue to do so. Over the last 20 years the lake has suffered a reduction of more than 50%.

We stayed in a shared room at the top of the cabin. It was great - sheets and towels provided, hot showers, beautiful and spotlessly clean. The outside area is in a spectacular setting right off TMB trail. Dinner and breakfast both good and enough food which is the main thing a day hiking! We had a couple of great wines as well - perfect place to stay after a long day hiking.

An oasis in a storm: ten minutes before arrival at Cabane du Combal, we found ourselves caught in a vicious thunderstorm. We arrived to find at least 150 wet TMB walkers stuffed into the reception area/bar/dining room of the refuge. The staff was stretched thin but kept a great attitude and even got us into our room early. Dinner was great. The room was exceptional -- all private rooms have large ensuite bathrooms. We loved gazing through the skylights at night to see the stars. We especially loved one staff member who served us multiple hot cocoas (don't remember his name, but he had long, dark hair and a beard -- special thanks to him!)

The first thing I loved is the staff. They are OUTSTANDING. I was sick and couldn’t do dinner and they went out of there way to provide direct room service. Thank you ❤️. Rooms clean and excellent.

We so loved this refugio on the Tour du Mont Blanc. It is a tightly run property (there are many policies, but they made sense for organization and cleanliness), clean, beautiful and in such an amazing location. Manuel took great care of us in the afternoon, and the entire team managed dinner and breakfast efficiently for the guests. We shared a quad room and found great friends. Book this if you can get it!

Mangiato qui al ritorno da una passeggiata in zona. Ottima polenta concia, polenta con salsiccetta, torta di mele saporita e non dolciastra, e caffè. Servizio cortese e puntuale.
