Every year we try a starred restaurant and among these Ca' Matilde is perhaps the one that impressed me the most. Sometimes you hear that a chef tries to tell stories with his dishes... well the chef of this restaurant succeeds! Excellent service, the dinner was perfect in every way. We spent two nights in the b&b that I can definitely recommend (excellent quality/price ratio).

For my birthday I gave myself a special gift: a dinner at Ca' Matilde, a starred restaurant located in the hills of Reggio Emilia. I had already been there a few years ago and going back was like reopening a beautiful memory, but with something more. Chef Andrea Incerti Vezzani's cuisine is a true sensorial experience: elegance, technique and flavor in every dish. ● WHAT I ATE: I chose the seafood menu. A refined journey through aromas and textures, with well-plated dishes, top quality ingredients and balanced combinations. Each course arrived like a little story, to be savored calmly. ● WHAT I DRINK: a Trento DOC Nature, classic method, fresh and perfect to accompany every dish on the menu. ● LOCAL: elegant but not cold, with well-kept spaces. The atmosphere is relaxed, perfect for enjoying dinner without rushing. ● STAFF: impeccable service, attentive waiters, present at the right time but never intrusive. Professional and friendly, they make the experience even more pleasant. ● PRICE: in line with a starred restaurant and the experience offered. A gift worth giving. ● TIP: if you are looking for a truly special dinner in a relaxed and refined setting, this is the right place. Book in advance, especially on weekends or for special occasions.

It didn't excite me. I chose the seafood menu. All the dishes were good, well made, with a nice plating but not really memorable. So-so service for a starred hotel: the wine service was not accurate (too much wine was poured by the waiter and more than once I had to do it myself). In the end good, but not great. Between limitations in choice (tasting only and chosen the day before), not excellent service, dishes of medium interest, you leave with the impression of something missing

We have just spent a few days at Ca’Matilde during the Christmas period whilst visiting family in the region. Our stay was made exceptional by Marcella, who as usual welcomed us with the best hospitality one could wish for. The food at the restaurant is delicious and interesting and showcases the regional food and vegetables from their garden, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is just the best way to start the morning. We will definitely be coming back!

Oltre alla posizione ottimale per il nostro obbiettivo (maratona/ mezza maratona di Reggio Emilia) abbiamo trovato cordialità e disponibilità per quanto riguarda l’organizzazione del nostro pernottamento. Ci hanno infatti servito la colazione 30’ prima rispetto all’orario indicato e ci hanno concesso di tenere la camera fino all’orario di pranzo per consentirci una doccia calda dopo la Manifestazione della città. La Responsabile è stata molto attenta alla nostra colazione oltre che alla sistemazione della stanza. Sicuramente ci torneremo per provare anche la cucina.
