We have just spent a few days at Ca’Matilde during the Christmas period whilst visiting family in the region. Our stay was made exceptional by Marcella, who as usual welcomed us with the best hospitality one could wish for. The food at the restaurant is delicious and interesting and showcases the regional food and vegetables from their garden, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is just the best way to start the morning. We will definitely be coming back!

Oltre alla posizione ottimale per il nostro obbiettivo (maratona/ mezza maratona di Reggio Emilia) abbiamo trovato cordialità e disponibilità per quanto riguarda l’organizzazione del nostro pernottamento. Ci hanno infatti servito la colazione 30’ prima rispetto all’orario indicato e ci hanno concesso di tenere la camera fino all’orario di pranzo per consentirci una doccia calda dopo la Manifestazione della città.
La Responsabile è stata molto attenta alla nostra colazione oltre che alla sistemazione della stanza.
Sicuramente ci torneremo per provare anche la cucina.

We had dinner on Saturday evening at Ca' Matilde. The service, attention, quality, variety of courses are impeccable, all expertly prepared, the result of the study and skill of the entire staff. Il ristorante è situato in mezzo alle campagne, in un casale perfettamente ristrutturato. Gli interni sono moderni ma leggermente cupi a causa della poca luce che filtra dalle finestre. Eravamo in 4 e abbiamo scelto il menù "gli intramontabili". Tutto era buono, ben presentato ma nulla è stato esaltante. Sono piatti che potrebbero essere fatti da qualsiasi bravo cuoco. Servizio a tratti distante, qualche errore ma nel complesso un piacevole pranzo domenicale.

We tried the overseas tasting with wine pairing and I must say everything was really good. Swordfish tacos will always be one of my all-time favorite dishes.

Beautiful experience that satisfied all the senses. Each dish manages to convey passion, attention to detail, ability, knowledge of the ingredients, largely deriving from the vegetable garden behind the house that houses the restaurant. Attentive and precise service in explanations. Wine list for connoisseurs. An unexpected joy from start to finish when I also exchanged a few words with Chef Incerti Vezzani.
