Excellent food. The service is very friendly and attentive. The prices are very fair. The atmosphere in the dining room is lovely. A huge menu with a wide variety of dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I made the mistake of reading these reviews after I’d already sat down. I was worried we about to have a terrible time, but I guess we had a completely different experience. It was fine. Not the best meal we had, but the food was good and the service was quick. I guess Google reviews can’t always be trusted.

We had lunch in Piazza dell'Anfiteatro and the experience was truly wonderful. Sitting outdoors in one of Lucca's most beautiful squares, we enjoyed a unique and relaxing atmosphere. The dishes were excellent: the flavorful and authentic Lucchese soup, the truly exceptional pici with Chianina white ragù, and the delicious carbonara.

During my visit to Dal Poderino in Lucca, I started with their cold cut board, which turn out to be generous and well balanced selection of local cured meats and cheeses. The additional honey was a clever touch: its sweetness softerned the saltiness of the salumi and brought out the creaminess of the cheeses. Making each bite feel a bit more special. For my main course, I chose pasta with a meat and tomato sauce. The pasta was cooked to a pleasant al dente, and the sauce was rich, comforting - no enough meat but a rounded tomato flavour. It tasted like a simple , home style dish done with care. Combined with the warm atmosphere of Piazza dell'Anfiteatro - the meal felt relaxed and authentically Tuscan. Overall, Dal Poderino offered satisfying, honest food and I would happily return.

We had two types of pasta with sauce and both were delicious. We appreciate that the place was open during winter time.

Very nice location however food is average. In my opinion, this isn’t a classic Italian restaurant, but rather a place that serves Italian‑style dishes with a different culinary approach. Good to know if you’re looking for strictly traditional Italian vibes.
