They seem to have been operating since 2017. I've been in Milan for six years and have eaten there countless times. The photos are pictures I took at different times when I dined at the restaurant. It's a very delicious restaurant serving Yunnan cuisine. So far, I haven't had a single bad dish; they've all been excellent. I asked the staff, and they said that the owners and partners only have this one restaurant; they don't have any branches. One of the owners is also the head chef. Remember to make a reservation in advance, and if you're more than 10 minutes late, they might call you.

Great spot for authentic Chinese dishes! Their steamed shrimp ravioli were good as well as their beef sauteed vegetables and black pepper that is served with white rice and an egg. We also had some mango and vanilla my mochi and the vanilla flavored were exceptionally good. Amazing atmosphere and super friendly and welcoming staff!

Came after reading raving reviews on XHS, the two dishes that stood out were:
Crispy pork ribs & mined pork stir fry (we got it with rice and egg too).
Passionfruit mango drink was a bit too sweet even though we got half sugar (too syrupy), the rice noodles (小锅米线）was not what I expected and the stir fried cabbage was good.
Would come back again! Owner and service was very nice. They were very busy so I recommend making a reservation

As a Yunnan native eating here, I'd suggest not ordering the small pot rice noodles...it doesn't really have much connection to my hometown.
On the other hand, the stir-fried beef with pickled bamboo shoots was quite good; the meat was tender and of good quality, with a hint of Dai flavor.

I love Chinese cuisine, and despite my high expectations, I thoroughly enjoyed today's lunch. The menu is extensive and carefully curated, the service is fast, and the staff is friendly. Everything we tried was excellent and had a very distinctive flavor, distinguishing it from many restaurants (which, despite being of medium-high quality, all seem the same). The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous.
Be sure to book ahead of time, especially through Google; the restaurant is often very busy.
I hope to return soon!

Batong in Milan is an authentic Chinese restaurant that truly took me back to China. Authentic flavors, fantastic dishes, and an experience I recommend to anyone looking for authentic Chinese cuisine. Truly fantastic!
