Bar Trattoria Bighignoli Ornella In Verona

It was inconvenient to get there, my expectations were high, unfortunately we had to change our minds. It wasn't to my liking, the only positive note was the bill, but I would have gladly paid more if the food had been decent. Too bad.

Finally a real trattoria, not the usual "trattorias"/osterie/restaurants that are marketed. Very good value for money. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Excellent food.

Last night my partner and I went to Ornella's for the set menu that was available yesterday, which included two first courses (taglioni with rabbit ragù and white asparagus risotto), two second courses with sides (roast veal and pork cheek with mashed potatoes), two desserts and a choice of strawberry tiramisu or Sbrisolona with grappa), a quarter of wine each and half a liter of water each. EVERYTHING SUPERLATIVE, homemade, just like grandma used to make, and as true lovers of trattorias and osterias, we truly enjoyed our stay! The staff were incredibly kind, the place small but cozy, and we'll be back soon with friends! Well done, and thank you for the evening!

The place is simple, as is the food served. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. The quality-price ratio is good. Don't expect anything fancy, just the typical menu of a provincial trattoria: local products, classic first courses, top-notch wines, and equally good second courses, the boiled meat with pear sauce. Unfortunately, if you're unlucky like us and find a table next to you with 20 rude country bumpkins who, instead of talking, cackle like crazy geese, your lunch is over, and you'll be itching to leave because the noise makes it impossible to even talk to your neighbor. If I return, I'll check with the restaurant owner to see if there will be any tables with more than 8 people.

A simple trattoria serving good, traditional cuisine. Friendly, attentive service.

The food quality was average, but the quantity was a bit limited. I had polenta with scallop, but it was more scallop oil than anything else. The atmosphere and service were basic, but overall it was fine. For what was offered, I found the price a bit high.

We've been a couple of times, both for lunch and dinner, and the food is simple but well-prepared. My only advice, if I may, is to make sure the food arrives hot. Parking is available and free for customers. I recommend it to everyone. Call to make a reservation, as the place isn't very big.

An honest, old-fashioned trattoria. A rare find. Though discreet, it deserves a lot of attention for its authentic preparations and, above all, its potential.
