Historic place, large space, a bit retro, 50s-60s style, but elegant and in keeping with the customers and the staff, also elegant, kind and professional, but a bit retro. It is not usual to find a place with bright sparkling chandeliers on the ceiling, where you are served by attentive waiters in white jackets and black ties and trousers. The Catanian pizzas are good, the strictly traditional scacciata is good, with tuma and anchovies, but with an excessive flavour and a bit dry. The baked arancino with spinach is excellent. This too is now difficult to find in Catania's rotisserie. The baba' and the baked carnival chiacchiere are good. Wide choice of desserts, ice creams (5 types of chocolate ice cream, excellent dark chocolate ice cream in a cup and zuppa inglese, one of the best I've ever eaten), breakfasts, first and second courses. Good value for money, but not all products have their prices displayed to the public. This, unfortunately, is a common shortcoming in many places in Catania and the surrounding area. Free parking reserved for customers. Last night after the theater we returned and had a pizza margherita and a focaccia with cherry tomatoes, both good. The classic cipollina was excellent, one of the best we tasted in Catania and the surrounding area.
