Bar Orchidea In Roma

A genuine Italian bar with very fine gelato!

We went there four times in six days, each time for ice cream, which was very good. We were always served by the same very friendly and smiling waiter, who recognized us—that was lovely! The only downside was the toilets; there was only one, located at the back of an inner courtyard.

I had a very good espresso here by the bar for €1,20. Staff was friendly and helpful. Minus one star for luck of toilet there was only a sink.

I know it’s not your typical aperitif place but after the Fountain craziness, I was happy to sit down where it was sane to enjoy my aperol served in the tallest glass ever. Freshly warmed tramezzino (had mushroom and mozzarella) was delicious and my girls enjoyed the gelato. The staff who worked there were extremely pleasant. And while not fancy or hip, it’s a clean spacious establishment for no fuss drink and a bite to eat.

We stopped here while waiting for the church across the street to open, and we found the best tiramisu we've had in Rome here. We also tried the cannoli, which was excellent as well. The only thing that could be deducted is that it's a bit old, but let's consider that a minor flaw 🤗 Great job, everyone!

I stumbled upon this place by chance while waiting for the church to open. I've tried tiramisu in many popular places, but this one's is something else. I came back a second time to eat it, then I checked the Google rating and couldn't believe it, it was very low. It doesn't have the rating it deserves, and the waiter was friendly and the place was clean.

Good service and good ice cream. €3.50 a scoop, perhaps a little above average.

This bar is located across from the historic Palazzo Altieri and just a few dozen meters from Largo di Torre Argentina. The decor isn't brand new, but it's well-maintained and more than adequate. The coffee and breakfast pastries are excellent, as is the service. The lady is kind and cheerful! The only inconvenience, which can't be attributed to the management because the building is very old, is that to access the restroom, you have to go to the back room and from there into a sort of light well, where the bathroom is located. A recommended bar in the area! 👍

The coffee is not bad, the staff should smile more, I know, standing behind a counter is tiring.
