A museum born from the renovation by star architect Odile Decq of the former Peroni Brewery factory. Located in dialogue with the historic monumental Villa Albani and the beating heart of the Salario neighborhood (the market in Piazza Alessandria, but also on the other side with the square piazza), first under the direction of De Finis and now under that of Cristiana Perrella, it has done so much for the city, its neighborhoods, and contemporary art, going well beyond the permanent collection of over 500 works. I always love coming back to MACRO, Odile Decq’s building is so generous and funky, sometimes even pleasurably confusing. The building is not maintained as it should tho. The stainless steel of the bathrooms (iconic btw) could be treated with more care. Mazzuchelli’s inflatable wall is an iconic moment in the experience of the building.

The facility and staff are fantastic. The selection of exhibitions, however, isn't up to par. A museum with enormous potential, but very poorly used. It's a shame.

Architecturally very beautiful, but I found the performances a bit disappointing, unfortunately. Nice terrace for a stop or events.

The architecture is okay, but there aren't many exhibits; it's a quiet place for studying.

The guys were incredibly friendly and professional! Highly recommended!
