Bar Moderno In Godiasco

In the desolate (though fortunately recovering) Salice, this historic bar keeps the name of the city high. The specialty is the sandwiches and I am not exaggerating in saying that they were the best I have eaten in recent years. The bread is very soft and cooked to perfection, the cured meats are of the highest quality and the sauces are all homemade. As I understand it, the symbolic sandwich is the one with coppa, caprice (goat's brie), rocket and truffle oil and I couldn't help but try it: every bite was an experience, incredible. The beers are also good, they are mostly commercial but you can find something special like the Augustiner which I hadn't found for a long time. I also really liked the absence of a list, apart from their flagships, the sandwiches vary based on the fresh ingredients of the day. I hope everyone will try their seafood carpaccio sandwich, a unique delicacy! The service was very kind, I have rarely found waiters so good at advising and making the customer smile. Very honest price, two sandwiches loaded with fillings, beer and water, 19 euros. I recommend going early, it's a very popular place and from after 8pm a large queue builds up at the doors of the place. Bottom line: fantastic experience, I highly recommend it.

I'd say it's been my favorite sandwich for exactly 35 years! Top quality cold cuts and excellent bread.
