My husband and I stopped at Bar dei Cerchi for a coffee break. I indulged in a sfogliatella riccia, while my husband opted for a ciambella—everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the prices were reasonable. This bar is located very close to the Circus Maximus and the Mouth of Truth, and if you're looking for a break, I highly recommend it.

A well-stocked tobacconist's with everything you need, friendly staff—I assume the owner is a pleasant chatterbox—fair, non-touristy prices, a nice coffee machine, average extraction, and a lot of robusta, as is generally the case here. The outdoor terrace, almost opposite the Circus Maximus, makes for a quick pit stop, as it should be.

06/04/2026: We were a little hesitant to try this osteria given the less-than-stellar reviews, but we came for Easter Monday and it was a real revelation. We sat at the table and ordered coppiette, sausages, prosciutto, salami, mortadella, a trio of cheeses, artichokes, sautéed chicory, and focaccia. Everything was delicious and of excellent quality. Still not satisfied, we ordered three pinza, which were also delicious. To finish, we ordered sweet and sour desserts. The service was impeccable; the staff were young, polite, and punctual. The prices are fair, given the quality of the ingredients, and given that prices are similar everywhere you go around the lake and the surrounding area. In short, an osteria worth trying and definitely returning to.
