Bar Caffe' Margherita Osteria In Bologna

Paramos aquí para almorzar después de la (imperdible) caminata hasta San Luca. Solo esperábamos una pasta, pero terminamos con una fantástica comida tradicional. El chef describió muy bien cada plato y disfrutamos de platos que no hemos tenido en ningún otro lugar de Italia. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante después o antes de visitar San Luca.

Strangely, the place was empty on a Saturday night, which surprised us. Good food, homemade and traditional cuisine. Friendly and polite staff.

We were wandering along the Porticoes down from The Sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca and had not realised the time and we were getting peckish for lunch. One thing to note in a lot of Italy a lot of restaurants/cafes (away from touristy spots) will close after lunch around 2pm and reopen later in the afternoon. So we were pretty much all out of luck of finding a lunch spot. Thankfully we wandered past this little bar and asked if they were still serving and we are so thrilled to have found it, the sage ravioli was outstanding and their special porcini tagletelli was moreish. The lady who served us said her English was not great but she spoke perfectly and we managed to exchange some conversation, we had a lovely little tale towards the back of the restraint and we were so well looked after. An accidental find but still one of my most memorable meals on our trip around northern Italy.

I discovered this restaurant on my way back from San Luca and I must say that, despite the time (around 3pm), I was cordially welcomed by the managers. I found the food excellent, I wanted to try the tagliatelle with meat sauce and I was satisfied. Definitely coming back.

The Bar Trattoria Margherita, at the beginning of the portico that leads to San Luca, is a pleasant surprise for those looking for authenticity. In an era of "typical" trattorias mass-produced to follow fashions, this place stands out for its true flavour. Run by two genuine people, with whom it is a pleasure to chat, it offers an experience that goes beyond simple eating. The food is traditional, but it is not just the palate that is satisfied: the place also has an interesting cinematographic connection, a detail that is worth discovering directly from the owners. In short, a perfect place for those looking for something real, without being fooled by appearances, ideal for refreshment before tackling the climb towards San Luca, even better for relaxing after the descent.

The staff are so lovely and made us feel very welcome and told us which foods and wines were local. The traditional lasagne was absolutely incredible, the nicest thing I've eaten on my 2 week trip to Italy

A place that offers typical cuisine with both characteristic Bolognese dishes and some off-menu dishes. Very friendly and welcoming staff. (2 first courses, 1 second course, 1 dessert, wine, water, 2 coffees €63). Super recommended!
