An experience not to be repeated. After notifying the reservation staff that I didn't eat seafood and reiterating this to the waiter, the first appetizer they served was shrimp with a sauce! Lack of attention... after dessert, they informed us that they would bring fruit, which was preceded by coffee... Lack of attention... service not up to par for a one-star restaurant.

Very disappointed after several previous visits. Food was average at best, staff was disengaged and spending more time on cellphones then taking care of guests

A unique experience – if you like fish! Even though we had to venture out by public transport at lunchtime in summer temperatures, the lunch was unforgettable: the location (right by the sea), the service (very attentive), the food (refined and especially fine), and the accompanying wines (well-tempered and perfectly selected). We would love to come back to enjoy this experience once again!

A GOURMET TERRACE OVERLOOKING THE SEA BETWEEN ITALY AND FRANCE strategically positioned on the border between Italy and France, it is a true natural terrace overlooking the sea. Just a few meters above the cliff, it offers an unparalleled view of the Ligurian Sea and the sunset that gently falls behind the hills of Menton. A postcard location, perfect for special moments, such as a romantic dinner at sunset. Outside, a few tables are elegantly distributed around the structure, allowing you to fully enjoy the charm of the panorama. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a sober but refined setting that recalls the classy Mediterranean style. The service lives up to the restaurant's reputation: the staff is present, prepared and available, sometimes a little too "pressing" in terms of timing, but always professional and attentive. The service rhythms are precise, and the management of the room is done with great care. We opted for the chef's proposal with a €140 menu, with two tasting menus to choose from: • 5 courses at €120 • 7 courses at €140 Each dish is aesthetically impeccable, a pleasure for the eyes, studied in the smallest details. However, in terms of taste, despite the Michelin star and the excellent quality of the raw materials, some combinations did not excite us as we expected. Perhaps due to the memory of previous management, where the level of surprising explosion of flavors was more marked, we left with a slight feeling of regret. This does not detract from the extraordinary context, nor from the technical and precise cuisine, but probably the expectations were very high. Balsi Rossi remains a charming restaurant, elegant and spectacular in its location, ideal for special occasions. It certainly deserves a second visit, perhaps to rediscover that spark of taste that had made us fall in love in the past. To try again

Michelin called, they want their star back. When we dined there was only one other couple in the restaurant the whole night. Seems about right. Two things separated this from a good review and a bad one. First, who serves sweetbreads with a Michelin prix fixe meal? The final main - sweetbreads and monkfish was inedible. The rankness of the sweetbreads and the sauce ruined the monkfish. Second, the sommelier tried to peddle some homemade (yes, really, homemade) kombucha as the final wine pairing. That also smelled so rank I finally had enough and had to ask for another glass of wine. I’ve done many Michelin one star dinners and this one didn’t rate.

The seven course tasting menu that we enjoyed had a great range and depth of tastes and each dish was exquisitely prepared. Although mainly fish-based, each dish was quite different from each other. We visited on a Thursday night when the number of covers was low, but impeccable service made up for the quiet atmosphere.

La ubicación es impresionante - tuvimos una hermosa vista del mar Mediterráneo y la ciudad de Menton desde la terraza del restaurante Balzi Rossi - y la comida es excelente (todo estaba lleno de sabor y cocinado perfectamente: crema de alcachofa y ramitas de romero con galletas saladas y queso parmesano para la diversión - bouche; una sopa de calabacín, guisantes, judías verdes, judías de lima, y camarones para el aperitivo; seguido de calamares y pulpo con risone; un plato de besugo con hinojo y salsa holandesa; y un postre con fresa, ruibarbo, yogur griego de vainilla, y trocitos de sésamo para completar la comida). El personal era profesional, amable y atento.

Notre déjeuner fut absolument parfait. Nous avons été chaleureusement accueilli par toute l’équipe du restaurant, le déjeuner surprise était un délice, tout était parfait. La vue absolument splendide, nous y retournerons.
