We were on holiday in Mondello and the owner of the apartment we were staying in recommended this place to us. Small but pleasant, clean environment. Excellent service, the staff was always attentive to our every request and/or need. Having 2 little girls we asked for 2 cutlets which arrived immediately and were excellent. Quality cold cuts platter, exceptional first courses! Right quality-price ratio.

Nice place indeed and the new years menu more that agreeable for the night. We got a little pulled over the table on the wine, but I could have asked the price as well, but wanted to go with the flow. 90€ for a local wine was probably silly though, as it wasn’t that good!

I have mixed feelings.
We were 2 and had 2 appetizers, 1 primo (shared), 1 secondo (shared), 1 dessert (shared), 1 half bottle of franciacorta (shared).
The franciacorta was good and price fair
One of the antipasto was amazingly good. The other antipasto and primo were good. The second was ok-ish...the quality of the red tuna was not emphasized by the pistacchio crust.
While most of the meal was good...the price was clearly exagerated...we paid 150 euros in total. We had other meals in Mondello (with same fish provider, with same quality and it was much less expensive).
We also had non cooked bread (see picture) and expired olive oil (see photo - I know that olive oil can be used past expiration dates in general...but for the sake of professionalism in the restaurant business, they could keep it in the kitchen and not serve it on the table).
We discussed this experience with our hotel the same evening who confirmed us that they generally do not recommand their clients to go to Badalamenti because it is way too pretentious and over-rated...it is exactly how it felt.

The food is good but given the prices one expects that - as in restaurants all over the world where these amounts are paid - the dish will be explained upon arrival, described in flavors and combinations, as one would expect from professionals. Instead, the service of the owners is not only summary but borders on the limits of rudeness. No smile, no advice on wines, in fact when we asked for the wines we were told "you can look at the wines, they're here" pointing to the various shelves. The summary and unpleasant service reserved for those who are probably considered by them as "ordinary mortals" is compensated by a rather lewd and excessively obsequious one with "VIP customers": The comedian from Palermo sitting a few tables away from us received in fact all the smiles and advice that the two owners seemed to lack for the remaining customers.
In short, as a Palermitan who lives abroad I can say that this restaurant is the classic place where you can breathe the self-referential and annoyed atmosphere typical of the Malavoglia. Bad as the desire that the owners have to pamper their customers and make them come back. We paid €180 for two starters, two first courses, a bottle of wine, two coffees and a shared dessert. We were not offered - as is usually typical of Italians - no amaro, no limoncello.
I prefer to pay even more but to people who don't see customers just as banknotes but as people.
I recommend working on the service and presentation of the dishes which is truly equal to absolute zero.

Este maravilloso lugar fue recomendado por nuestro hotel y estoy tan feliz de haber tomado su sugerencia! Nuestra cena fue una de las mejores comidas que hemos tenido en nuestras tres semanas en Sicilia! El servicio fue excepcional y muy atento! La selección de vinos era interminable y disfrutamos mucho cada minuto! Fue una noche muy divertida y sin duda volveremos de nuevo el próximo viaje!

The service at this restaurant was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations for both food and drink. Their suggestions were spot-on, enhancing our meal and overall experience.
