Who said that you don't eat excellent fish-based dishes in Modena? In this restaurant you can enjoy the freshest fish and seafood in a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Ottimo ristorante tradizionale in centro. Curiosa la scelta estetica degli interni, in stile alpino-centroeuropeo, rimasti originali, da circa 40 anni, forse dovuti alla proprietaria e cuoca austriaca. Atmosfera vintage. Tavoli un po piccoli. Ottimo pesce fresco abbinato a verdura cruda. Triglie e calamaretti buonissimi. Polpo bollito al naturale perfetto, tenero. Spaghetti alle vongole veraci appetitosi. Perfetto l’abbinamento con gli ottimi vini spumanti classici a chilometro zero della Cantina della Volta di Bomporto. Dolci davvero speciali: da non perdere la torta di mele e la torta di ricotta. Entrare in questo piccolo tempio della ristorazione modenese è un atto di devozione verso una gestione familiare temprata dal tempo.....52 anni di ininterrotto servizio alla città e dei buongustai. Il locale offre solo pochi coperti, con un menù di mare tradizionale di grande qualità e freschezza. La clientela che lo frequenta gode di preparazioni classiche, senza cadute modaiole, dove il pesce viene trattato per quello che è, e servito nei modi e nei tempi giusti. Leggendaria è la torta di mele in finale, che da sola vale il pasto. La cantina non è molto vasta ma dispone anche di qualche perla. L'arredamento, gli spazi, le stoviglie, i tovagliati e l'atmosfera rimandano agli anni '70 e '80 per cui non è un ambiente per "fashion victims", ma dedicato agli amanti del luoghi del cuore. Dispiace che tra un po' anche questo simulacro sarà destinato a scomparire, lasciando questo spazio in balia di qualche Wine bar o fast food, per cui affrettatevi a godere ancora di questa cucina. Anche loro come gli ultimi indiani andrebbero protetti e considerati.

The food was incredible and I honestly feel that the restaurant has worked on some of the things I read in recent reviews- not correct pricing for instance. They still have not updated their prices on the menu card but the stuff informed us about this beforehand. Other than that the food from starters to desserts was top notch. Definitely recommend! The waiters and owner were all lovely as well.
