There are no words to express how impeccable the dinner at Arrosteria Borgo Antico was in every course we had the pleasure of tasting. The raw materials used are very fresh and chosen with a preference for the locality, the cuts of meat, selected and refined, are masterfully prepared, the appetizer is a perfect combination of tradition and the chef's creativity. We started our dinner with the house appetizer. Worthy of note are the beef tartare seasoned with mustard and crunchy onion, the carpaccio with pink pepper, the fondue with chopped pistachios, the selection of strictly local cured meats and dairy products and the mint-scented caponatina. For the choice of meat we let ourselves be guided by Angelo, Owner as well as creative mind and chef, ordering a Florentine and a cut of exceptional quality! We then concluded the dinner with some excellent desserts and cannoli served with grappa and limoncello. A round of applause then goes to the kindness of all the staff. This is one of those places set in a suggestive setting that I would recommend to anyone to make a good impression. We will be back without a doubt!

Typical and charming restaurant in the alleys, friendly and fast service

Experience on a sultry Saturday evening with a table in the side Stradella where not a breath of air circulated; narrow table with an awkward passage both for table service and for the diners who followed one another! Let's take the tourist menu at 35 euros each with assorted more or less typical appetizers and mixed roast; nothing to complain about the price but both the typicality of the products offered and a clear quality worthy of the previous management were absolutely missing! Baked potato side dish to avoid! The only positive note was the kindness of the owner who welcomed us. Big margins for improvement.

Many years have passed since the last time I went and nothing has changed! Same location (on the street) same food aaaaaaa the prices have changed! Yes, those!

...siete nel posto giusto. Abbiamo cenato nel vicolo adiacente perché era estate e la serata lo permetteva ed il clima era gradevole. Attenzione che a Ceglie spesso tira un venticello fresco, meglio avere con sè una felpa. Siamo partiti con antipasto misto per tutti. Mettono insieme un po' di salumi e formaggi freschi, unitamente a battuta di carne e vitello in cruditè. A parte arrivano anche delle verdure saltate e insalata fresca. Porzioni corrette. Poi grigliata mista dove sono molto buone le bombette (una mia passione!), ma ecco anche agnello e salsicce. Porzione non risicata. Avremmo gradito magari delle verdure grigliate, ma non erano disponibili, peccato. Vino rosso della casa e mini dolce per tutti e alla fine abbiamo speso E 30 a testa. Prezzo davvero corretto. Servizio attento e cortese. Una serata senza sbavature anche se non si mangia gourmet, ma cucina locale molto gustosa. La prenotazione è d'obbligo altrimenti vi toccherà rinunciare. Se dovessi ripassare da Ceglie ci tornerei molto volentieri.
