Excellent quality and prices. The sfincione is comparable only to homemade, as is tradition. The cannoli survived the sea crossing and made a great impression on the recipient. Everything was exceptional.

Arancino/a (I don't know what the correct term is here in Palermo 😂😆) is incredible. At a very low price (€2.50) and it's an extra large size! I had it with mushrooms and mozzarella since I don't eat meat, and it was delicious, truly. They also have other vegetarian options, but also non-vegetarian ones, obviously. I definitely recommend it!

We arrived around 5 on a Saturday night in early November to pick up dinner for later in Carini where we were staying. They packaged 3 Francine beautifully, felt like a pound each. We warmed them in the oven later that night. Delicious with a bottle of local wine. Staff were kind to my emerging Italian. You order on one side and pay the cashier behind you. The total was about 7 euro and so filling

05/07/2026: We had a delicious meal at Mamma Rosa in Portinico both times. Very good, professional service in a large, traditional, clean restaurant. Plenty of seating. We had a fantastic meal with antipasti (caponata, bruschetta, prosciutto, and melon), pastas, fish, carne (lamb chops and Sicilian sausages!), and several desserts, including limoncello sorbet and almond ice cream cake with chocolate sauce. It is highly recommended, and the restaurant is owned by the same person as an equally top-notch accommodation in Romitello.
