Antico Emporio Stivali Fraschetta In Sermoneta

I visited this trattoria on Sunday, and despite it being very crowded, the experience was truly positive. The food was excellent, with tasty and carefully crafted dishes that reflected the passion and quality of the cuisine. The staff was kind and welcoming, always available even amidst the rush of customers. The wait was a bit long, understandable given the crowd, but the quality of the dishes more than made up for it.

We sat down and the waiter (a very kind and helpful man) immediately took our orders and brought us bread and water (we were eating alone). The problem was that many items on the menu were unavailable, and we had to almost completely adapt to what the waiter listed (really limited choice). He brought us the three platters for €25 each, which I think were a bit overpriced (not on the menu), then brought us the various first courses and cuts of meat we had ordered… more people arrived at the other tables… and from there, chaos ensued! We sat for over 40 minutes with our "dirty" plates in front of us, unable to order dessert because the waiter couldn't fit at our table anymore. At one point, I got up to ask for dessert, and after another 15 minutes, it arrived! He brought some REALLY RIDICULOUS slices... very thin portions of sour cherry tart, which didn't even taste like anything... I think they had been there for at least 3 days... (€5 each!), and we had to eat them with all the dirty plates under our noses. I repeat, it's not the guy's fault; in fact, he was quick and helpful, it's simply the fact that he was alone managing several tables! Oh... On top of that, we ordered a €20 bottle of wine, but they later let us know it wasn't there, and that for the same price they would bring us another one that normally costs €25, but when the bill arrived we noticed it had been marked down to €25 anyway! In short, it wasn't a great experience. The food was quite good, as was the location... it's very evocative to dine under the merchants' loggia... but I think the service was poor and the prices a bit too high (even the small Cokes at €3.50 each I think are a bit excessive). It was a Monday, and almost everything was closed, so in a sense we were "forced" to dine there. If I were to go back, I don't think I would.

We had dinner at this trattoria in the beautiful center of Sermoneta and had two main courses and side dishes including Sermoneta-style rabbit, braised beef with pistachios, and sautéed chicory, and finally a traditional dessert. Everything was delicious 😋. The service was impeccable, with a very young man who impressed us with his professionalism and kindness. Prices were average. I recommend it.

Apericena (aperitif dinner), Aperol Spritz, and a platter of local cured meats and cheeses. Aperol Spritz is served with a slice of dried orange. I didn't know this, in fact, when it came time to pay the bill, I complimented the platter, but I was disappointed because I noticed the slice of dark orange; I thought it was old. The owner explained that they're Sermoneta oranges, which they slice and then dry. He let me try one, and it was indeed tasty. It's a shame I left it in the glass.

In a medieval setting, we ate delicious fettuccine with chanterelle mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and basil. The chanterelle mushrooms were a wonderful discovery for me. A mixed grill of good meats. The Slalom draft beer is a must-try. Good value for money. More than friendly service. Recommended.

An informal environment, but with excellent service, despite the heat and above all a menu inspired by the dishes of the Sermoneta area cooked with great professionalism and attention to detail. Truly excellent. Recommended.

You should be able to pay with the POS, try to improve the connection.

Prenotato un po' all ultimo momento a pranzo, siamo riusciti ad avere un tavolo dentro che alla fine ci ha permesso di stare più tranquilli e freschi. Cibo molto buono, personale gentile. A 3 minuti a piedi dal castello.

Il locale si affaccia sulla strada principale del borgo, di fronte alla Loggia dei Mercanti. Abbiamo cenato all’esterno, sotto un tendone. I titolari ci hanno subito preavvertito che solo una parte dei piatti presenti sul menu’ erano disponibili. Il servizio è stato agile e cortese, favorito anche dalla scarsa affluenza di commensali. Purtroppo uno dei piatti ordinati non ha incontrato il gradimento di mia moglie. I titolari si sono rammaricati molto di ciò: al loro posto però avrei magari anche proposto di offrire due caffè.
