We stumbled upon this place in search of lunch and were grateful to be sat without a reservation, since it seemed that most parties arriving had made one. We sat outside which was nice and quiet. We thought we may have stumbled on another tourist trap based on the proximity to busier areas, but the menu proved otherwise. We were introduced to a few new authentic dishes that were really delicious. Don’t go there if you want pizza, because they definitely don’t have it. On the higher end of pricing we had experienced, but just enjoy and have a pitcher of wine as well.

Interesting environment, nice food. It seems they operate on capacity, the service was a bit stressed but you could see they are doing their best.

They asked us if there was anything else at the end of the meal, we asked if we could come again tomorrow evening....... it was that good. You have to book in advance......

I've been to this restaurant several times and have always been happy. I highly recommend the mixed fried fish, and the spider crab salad is fantastic! The prices are a little higher than the average in Venice, but it's absolutely worth it. Definitely worth a try; we'll definitely be back.

An amazing trattoria steeped in history and in a quiet area well away from the crazy crowds closer to the canal. We were delighted with the authentic atmosphere, friendly staff and the really reasonable prices. The food was delicious - there is a real focus on fresh seafood and produce. It’s clear that this is a long term family run business as there is plenty of history all around and the trattoria’s cookbook is a really interesting read. Don’t go here if you’re looking for pizza or views, but highly recommend Antiche Carampane if you’re looking for really great food with an authentic Venetian locale. Grazie Mille!

Love this restaurant. Booked for lunch, was seated outdoors in a quiet and breezy alley. Food was spectacular, seafood was so fresh. Loved their glasswares too! Highly recommend and do book in advance.

01/09/2025: I was surprised by the place. Although it's a bit small inside, the food is good and the prices are fair. They have a great variety of burgers, and the craft beers are also very good. I highly recommend it.

01/09/2025: Really delicious pizza and friendly service. On a negative note: the tables are too close together, making it quite noisy.
30/08/2025: We returned for dinner this evening for the umpteenth time. As always, a guaranteed success. Lorenzo is an added value to the place, and his beer recommendations are excellent.
