What a find. Antica Trattoria Spiga is an absolute gem. From the moment I entered the warm welcome I received from Somayeh suggested that this was going to be an enjoyable evening's dining. The decor is traditional, stylish and comfortable which gives an intimate feeling to the place. I have not posted any photos of the food, I'll others to do that. Needless to say every dish was delicious. Rana, the chef, explained his sauces come with a few 'secret' personal touches which I can testify provided subtle flavours to my antipasto 'Wild Boar Carpaccio' followed by the primo 'Ricotta & Spinach Tortelloni' with sage/butter sauce. The wine went down extremely well too!
I highly recommend Antic Trattoria Spiga for anyone wanting to experience the very best traditional Bolognaise cuisine.

Last night we tried Bolognese cuisine, and I have to say it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was quick and friendly.
We split a portion of ricotta tortelloni with butter and sage, and I have to say, they were delicious! They were so good we wanted to order more! The pasta was homemade, and the filling was creamy and flavorful.
The price is very reasonable, considering the quality and quantity of the food.
I highly recommend Antica Trattoria Spiga to all lovers of Bolognese cuisine! 😊

Trattoria in old Bologna. Pleasant. Intimate. Good food: delicious tortelli in broth, simple and delicious parmigiana, good pecorino and pea tart (but not enough to satisfy the hungry), crispy and delicious baked breaded sea bass, and a delicious zuppa inglese (a kind of cream). For dessert, I had sautéed ribs, which I love, and a bottle of wine. All satisfactory. Attentive service. For two. A quiet place where you can taste like you're eating at grandma's. Definitely worth returning.

A delightful discovery just steps from Porta San Vitale. This intimate and well-run restaurant offers excellent traditional Bolognese dishes with a few innovative twists. I opted for the only two fish options... citrus-marinated amberjack carpaccio, orange-marinated zucchini, and sea bass fillet with caramelized fennel and orange sauce. Both dishes amazed me and were best enjoyed with an excellent Sauvignon Blanc. A must-try for lovers of good food.

Right in the center of Bologna, on a quiet street less frequented by tourists, we went there with a Lonely Planet guide.
What can I say? Outstanding tortellini and a fantastic welcome, complete with a complimentary dessert on the house, which unfortunately we didn't photograph as we ate it almost immediately.
Highly recommended, also for other Bolognese dishes.

Courteous staff, welcoming atmosphere, well-prepared dishes, even the plating was meticulous.
The veal cutlet was a bit of a surprise (it was a bit saltimboccata... thickened with ham and cheese...), but it was still good.
A variety of wines, reasonably priced.
