It seems to me that times have changed, I say this as a citizen of Bologna who knows the place, it's been a while since I went ... I think I'll let some more time pass. A first course devoid of flavor (sausage too big and salty, chanterelles that were such ... but devoid of flavor, a mascarpone dessert without infamy and without praise. The price together with the furniture is the only thing that hasn't changed .... you can do better, but with all these tourists I understand you a little 🙏

Bolognese trattoria located in Pratello, a stone's throw from Piazza Maggiore. The menu changes very often with a few must-haves that remain fixed, among which the handmade tagliatella with ragù stands out, cooked to perfection. The mix of pecorino cheeses is avoidable, the lamb is good. Excellent value for money

A fantastic example of a ‘less is more’ experience! The staff were friendly and attentive. It was a relaxed atmosphere. We arrived on opening as recommended and within the hour it was packed. I got the linguine which had the most tasty tomatoes and my partner had the rigatoni which was hearty and satisfying. The desserts was equally as good. The tiramisu was not too sweet and had sprinkled chocolate within it which was a nice touch to adding texture to the dessert. The panna cotta was creamy and melted in the mouth. Both were excellent. Overall, an excellent relaxed meal that we would look forward to going back again!

La Trattoria Fantoni si trova al Pratello, zona universitaria e rossa nel cuore di Bologna. L’atmosfera è vera, popolare, ravvivata dalla schiettezza delle cameriere. Nel menu, qualche sorpresa (le ostriche!), ma ci siamo attenuti rigorosamente alla tradizione: antipasto di mortadella verace seguito da tagliatelle fatte a mano condite, no, immerse in un ragù di bontà commovente e sepolte da generose manciate di Parmigiano. Il tutto innaffiato da un Sangiovese del 2022.

Per me la migliore Tagliatella al ragù. Fantoni non ti delude mai. Atmosfera 🔝, servizio veloce e attento. Prezzi nella media per essere nel centro di Bologna.

04/06/2025: A classic and memorable experience – we will be back! Restaurant Donatello in Bologna was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The place is elegant and full of tradition, with a warm and classic interior that immediately gives a sense of Italian history and style. There is an atmosphere here that is both impressive and feels welcoming. The staff is very professional and elegantly dressed, and you can immediately tell that they have experience in top-class service. They take care of their guests in a way that feels both polite and personal. The food was delicious. I had tortellini with butter, sage and parmesan – a simple dish, but here made to perfection. Top class! My husband had a beef fillet with grilled vegetables and was equally satisfied. The wine was served in beautiful glasses, which enhanced the overall impression even more. Dessert tiramisu. Also very good. The prices are on the upper range, but this is a restaurant for special occasions – when you want to treat yourself to something out of the ordinary. And that is exactly what we did. With the central location and the seamless experience, this is a place we will definitely return to.

30/05/2025: Small but very well-kept place, excellent quality raw materials, exquisite food and well-sized portions. Menu with a good number of choices but not excessive and certainly all traditional.
