We had lunch at this osteria and had a great time, with reasonable prices. We were two couples.
We ordered:
- Appetizers: Crescentine with cured meats and squacquerone cheese
- First courses: Tagliatelle with ragù, Gramigna with sausage, and Tortelloni alla balanzoni
- Second course: Cotoletta alla Bolognese, which we split between two because of the generous portion.
We enjoyed all the dishes, and the bill was very reasonable (about €33 per person).

Very traditional place that had been recommended by our host. Well deserved. We made a reservation a day upfront to get a table outside. The staff is super friendly and the food tasty. The wine menu is extraordinary. We (2 persons) had pasta each and the cutlet bologna style and a bottle of wine. We paid like 70 euro of which the wine made half of it.

Friendly server greeted us and allowed us to be seated earlier than our reserved time. Outside table was perfect. Food arrived altogether, and hot, not typical Bologna tepid. Wine was local Sangiovese and added just the right note on a sunny afternoon. We ordered Tagliatelle Bolognese, Cotlet Milanese, and Sautéed Chicory. Chicory was the best we’ve had in Italy. Cotlet was breaded perfectly, not burnt at all. A most excellent meal was enjoyed by all. We will be returning to La Traviata! Only tiny negative, totally outside restaurant control was street noise. Restaurant has planted lovely vines and bushes to try to shield diners. Street noise is a fact of life in Italy.

We ate here twice in May 2026, once for lunch and once for dinner.
Both times we had cured meat for starters. The meat served was nice, better quality, flavorful. It also came with a soft cheese and some puffy fried bread that reminded us of sopapillas. Yum!
For dinner my partner had the steak with portobello mushrooms. He loved it. He reported that it was cooked perfectly to his taste and the mushroom slices were slabs of flavorful portobello.
I had the pork collar, having no idea what to expect. I was served some thin, grilled rounds of pork meat that were delicious. Tender, flavorful, and juicy. They came with a side that was tasty, but I honestly don't recall what it was. Our meal came with fresh bread, which was very nice.
We had a bottle of barbera with our dinner that was very good.
Our lunch included the cured meat as well as grilled vegetables and salads. My partner had a Caesar salad and I had a green salad. He enjoyed his Caesar, which had chicken in it. My salad had a pile of radicchio, which is too bitter for my tastes. Our grilled vegetables also had radicchio, which was kind of funny to me. The salads were fresh and had multiple types of greens in them.
The service was great both visits, restroom was clean, and overall quality of the food was very good.

Excellent gnocchi that floated like clouds. I’d order the gnocchi again. The tagliatelle à la Ragu could’ve been made closer to a traditional Bolognese. It was still good. I eat here again at least once a month.

This restaurant was recommended by adopted Bolognese residents and chosen to celebrate a special birthday. Located in the center of Bologna, it's the ideal place to savor traditional local specialties. Quality ingredients harmoniously combine with authentic flavors, evoking the warmth of home cooking. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, and the staff is friendly. The quality-price ratio is also excellent. A very positive experience: I hope to return soon.

All the appetizers were excellent, starting with the crescentine, small and tasty, accompanied by excellent cured meats and a very good artisanal giardiniera; fried polenta, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside (a must-eat with the squacquerone cheese it comes with). For our first courses, we ordered tagliatelle with ragù and lasagna (a little charred on the edges and with a crust on top, which I thought was perfect). Next, we had the cotoletta alla bolognese (personally, I found the parmesan cream to be very good and not overly salty) and the pork cheek with mushrooms: the mushrooms weren't too noticeable, but the meat was truly excellent, melting in your mouth.
