An old-fashioned trattoria just steps from Modena's main square, offering a variety of traditional dishes on the menu. The gnocco fritto and cured meats are highly recommended as starters, followed by a traditional first course. Reservations are highly recommended, as the restaurant is spacious but not overwhelming.

Excellent Modenese cuisine, the staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make guests feel at home! The menu is truly mouthwatering, starting with the classic local appetizer, the charcuterie board with crescentine and warm tigelle. If I can make a small comment, it's the price of the coffee at the end of the meal, which was truly excellent, but at €2.50 I think it's a bit overpriced. My opinion remains unchanged, however; we had a wonderful time and a divine dinner!

I went with a couple of friends to try the gnocco fritto and tigelle, hoping to try something else. The waiter could use some polishing and fine-tuning, explaining to us about the menu, what they do, and how they make it. The accompanying cured meats were good, some average, and the coppa was poorly trimmed with a oxidized part. These are trivial mistakes, but I would have expected more given the very high prices (cover charge €4 and water €5). The choice not to serve cheese with the gnocco and tigelle is a taste flaw, as both are very dry and more difficult to enjoy, leaving a salty, fatty, and greasy aftertaste. Advice on food and wine pairings is out of the question... too bad... The prices are high, so you have to work hard to live up to the prices offered. Alas, I'm sorry to be so picky, but I grew up in the restaurant business and have all the qualifications in this field. Very nice place.

Fantastically delicious food! Known for its schnitzel La cotoletta “Cervetta”. Perfect for sharing between two - the picture shows half a schnitzel!! Also the Antipasto Cervetta con gnocco fritto e tigelle montanare was wonderful!
