Antica Trattoria In Cortona

Visited this restaurant twice during our stay, once for lunch on a rainy day, and once on a Saturday evening. Both times we were welcomed in and given plenty of time to make our choices. Our waiter, Alex, was both helpful and knowledgeable. The food, the service, the environment and the atmosphere were all absolutely first class. Highly recommend.

This restaurant was one of the highlights of our visit to Cortona. The staff were very professional and polite. The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. As for the food, it was a gastronomic experience of exquisite flavours that is second to none. Highly recommended!

Our food was spectacular as was our service. It’s a smaller but perfect location.

We were lucky to arrive just as they were opening so we got a table even though we didn't have a reservation. I have a number of dietary restrictions but we were able to find dishes that I could eat. When we ordered, I asked the server to recommend a bottle of wine for us and he suggested an economical option that went well with our meals. The lamb was more thoroughly cooked than I am used to, and the beef was much rarer than my companion was used to, but both were excellent! The gnocchi was also quite good. We finished with the tiramisù and loved it! Very different from what we find in the US, but absolutely delicious. The servers didn't hover or interrupt us, but were always available if we needed something. It was pretty easy to get their attention, and they spoke enough English that we didn't have a problem communicating. We should probably try some of the other restaurants in town, but the experience here was so good that this might be the only place we dine out during our stay!

Just enjoyed a delious meal at Antica Trattoria. Staff was very friendly, the food was of good quality and the portions were genorous and reasonably priced.

Excellent service, great cuisine, and friendly conversation with the owners (ask for Marley). Highly recommended.

Had an absolutely fantastic lunch here. We ordered a fine bottle of wine and embarked upon lunch. We enjoyed anchovies with herbed butter, gnocchi and an excellent spaghetti with a spicy vodka. Finished with cheese. It was awesome (might be the Tuscan sun and wine speaking at this point...)

There is a string of restaurants in the square. Would recommend Antica trattoria. Great selection of food. Great for restricted diets (vegetarian etc.) while having lots of great stuff for those with unrestricted diets. Friendly attentive staff and very reasonably priced. Great value and great food.

Decepcionante - aunque la comida estaba bien, pero no muy bien el servicio era pobre. Nuestro camarero estaba distraído y no servicial, su actitud se molestó cuando hubo una ligera confusión en el pedido. Se negó a servirme vino blanco por copa o por media botella, aunque vimos a otros comensales que se servían copas individuales. Echado a perder lo que podría haber sido una gran noche
