Antica Trattoria In Cortona

We were lucky to arrive just as they were opening so we got a table even though we didn't have a reservation. I have a number of dietary restrictions but we were able to find dishes that I could eat. When we ordered, I asked the server to recommend a bottle of wine for us and he suggested an economical option that went well with our meals. The lamb was more thoroughly cooked than I am used to, and the beef was much rarer than my companion was used to, but both were excellent! The gnocchi was also quite good. We finished with the tiramisù and loved it! Very different from what we find in the US, but absolutely delicious. The servers didn't hover or interrupt us, but were always available if we needed something. It was pretty easy to get their attention, and they spoke enough English that we didn't have a problem communicating. We should probably try some of the other restaurants in town, but the experience here was so good that this might be the only place we dine out during our stay!

Just enjoyed a delious meal at Antica Trattoria. Staff was very friendly, the food was of good quality and the portions were genorous and reasonably priced.

Excellent service, great cuisine, and friendly conversation with the owners (ask for Marley). Highly recommended.

Had an absolutely fantastic lunch here. We ordered a fine bottle of wine and embarked upon lunch. We enjoyed anchovies with herbed butter, gnocchi and an excellent spaghetti with a spicy vodka. Finished with cheese. It was awesome (might be the Tuscan sun and wine speaking at this point...)

There is a string of restaurants in the square. Would recommend Antica trattoria. Great selection of food. Great for restricted diets (vegetarian etc.) while having lots of great stuff for those with unrestricted diets. Friendly attentive staff and very reasonably priced. Great value and great food.

Walked in without knowing what expect, on a rainy day.... What wonderful surprise: Great service, unique menu, wonderful flavors while being educated about the dishes preparation, process and consumption.... The restaurant owners are wonderful, kind knowledgeable hosts.... A must try....

Restaurant located in the heart of Cortona, overlooking the main square. Very charming and well-kept restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good, high-quality food, from meat to fish to vegetarian options... and above all, dishes that are different from the usual menus. Highly recommended!

The food was quite good. The service was downright rude. Clearly not interested in their work. Such a shame.

Proprio sulla piazza principale, di fronte al Palazzo Comunale (bello !) abbiamo voluto pranzare nei tavoli all' aperto, nonostante avesse appena smesso di piovere. Il personale sucuramente veloce e cortese. Abbiamo apprezzato dei piatti semplici ma ben curati e con ingredienti di qualità : meritano i complimenti per cibo, servizio, e conto.
