We came as a couple and chose the €95 menu. What we ate was unquestionable: the dishes were good, the ingredients were local, and you could clearly sense the care and craftsmanship behind each course. The presentation and explanations were also meticulous, which is certainly commendable.
That said, while everything was enjoyable, nothing really left an impression on us. The flavors were good, but there was nothing exceptional, nothing surprising, or suggestive of a unique taste. The dishes that make you want to return are missing.
The price is high, and perhaps this can be justified by the restaurant's accolades. However, my personal opinion is that, despite the food being good, I found nothing memorable: a pleasant experience, but not one that would make me want to return.

An Italian delicacy you absolutely must try.
I visited them on a business trip, and after an initial failed attempt at a restaurant reservation, the owner found me a table for the next day.
The menu is authentic and absolutely worth trying. There's nothing you won't want to try. The service is attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I greatly appreciated the attention to detail in the decor and the accompanying selections (e.g., the quality wine list and water). The bill was a little high, but it was absolutely justified by the quality and deliciousness of the dishes. Their tortellini with cream deserves special mention.
I suggest the owners include a "single-serving" version of the Bolognese cutlet on the menu to allow even solo travelers to experience this delicacy.
I will absolutely be back.

I visited this traditional restaurant near San Giovanni, near Bologna, and overall the experience was positive.
The welcome was warm, even though the restaurant was almost full. The atmosphere is quite intimate, yet liveable and consistent with the style of a historic trattoria.
The menu is extensive and interesting, although I didn't appreciate the fact that you can't enjoy a tasting menu alone (minimum two people). I had come specifically for that, so it was a bit of a disappointment. Also, they don't offer half portions.
I therefore opted for three hot appetizers, a classic first course, and a Florentine steak.
Overall, the cuisine is very good: the experience of a restaurant that has been open for many years is clearly evident, both in the dishes and in the restaurant's identity. The service is direct, at times a bit rushed, but understandable considering the type of clientele and the pace of work.
In detail:
- Impeccably cooked meat
- Truly excellent tortellini, although a little too rich in cream for my taste
- Good stuffed onion, but a little flavorless
- Not the freshest bread
On a sore point: the price of the stuffed onion (€20) seems a bit high for the offerings.
One aspect that left me perplexed was the meat: ordering a Florentine steak, I expected the whole cut, but instead I received a rib-eye steak. I understand the lack of the fillet, but it would have been fair to inform the customer in advance, letting them choose.
The overall bill was high, but in line with the type of restaurant. I was happy to leave a tip, especially considering the quality of the meat, which was truly perfectly executed.

There's nothing to complain about about the food; the quality is evident. But the prices are exorbitant: €4 for water, €4 for a cover charge, and €30 for a plate of tortellini. The tradition, the beautiful location, and the excellent service are all well and good, but within a 30km radius, there are many similar osterias with more reasonable prices.

Excellent, historic, award-winning osteria, with exceptional fresh pasta and a vast menu featuring high-quality ingredients.
Prices are a bit high, but still commensurate with the osteria's reputation and the quality and quantity of the dishes.
Definitely worth a try!
