When the right people recommend a restaurant, the only thing to do is...GO. A historic inn rightfully ranked among the best osterias in Italy.
At first glance, it might seem intimidating because the prices aren't exactly "osteria" fare, but once you sit down and try the first few dishes, you'll understand why: superb ingredients, including the infamous "panna d'affioramento" (creamy cream) from their own dairy, which becomes a truly fantastic topping for their excellent tortellini; excellent meat, including many excellent offal-based recipes; and, on top of all that, decidedly generous portions, all in a rustic and welcoming restaurant with an open grill. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the wine cellar isn't huge but is very interesting. We chose the excellent Brut Metodo Classico, made with Alionza and other native grapes from the first hills of Bologna, by Giorgio Erioli, a friend and true artist, not only in his oenology. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A place I've been wanting to try for a long time... overall, it was a decent experience. The cream tortellini were superb, and the cotoletta alla Bolognese was the best by far, and the friggione was delicious.
The lemon cockerel was a bit dry in my opinion, and I didn't like the puree, nor the potatoes (a bit sweet).
The latte in stale with caramel was delicious, and the zuppa inglese was good.
Service was quick and very friendly.
I found it odd that the chef/owner had a cigar in his mouth throughout the service, only to light it in the kitchen while we were eating dessert (the smoke had reached us).
Overall, as I said, a more positive than negative experience.
There's no point complaining about the quality/price ratio; the prices are there, and if you choose, you can't argue with the price. Sure, €110 for a cotoletta for two is a lot, but I'd go back just for that and the tortellini.

Mirasole needs no introduction. An award-winning osteria for years. Very traditional cuisine. Dinner for two. First courses. Tortellini in cream (no comment—just sublime) and classic lasagna (as opulent and rich to the eye as it was surprisingly light and balanced in flavor). The first courses were truly generous. For second courses, we had meatballs with tomato and pea sauce (just like grandma's) and lamb offal with cheese and eggs (a bold dish in flavor). Both were good, but I enjoyed the meatballs more. Desserts were a bit disappointing compared to the heights reached with the other dishes. We had tenerina and apple pie. The bill was around €160. This is commensurate with the quality, reputation, and accolades of the restaurant.

A sublime experience, with knowledgeable and friendly staff. We went with high expectations, and I must say they were exceeded. The tortellini with cream were excellent, but the other dishes were also cooked as they should be, with care and according to tradition. Authentic flavors that take you back in time. A charming venue with a fireplace and traditional furnishings.
