Every time we pass through Greve, the ancient Falorni butcher's shop is an obligatory stop for us. High quality cured meats and cheeses; the always well-stocked butcher's counter and then, the shop that takes you back in time. Beautiful beautiful beautiful

Questa antica macelleria storica è anche un bistrot ed enoteca dove si può consumare panini e taglieri golosi durante una degustazione fatta in libertà attraverso la comodissima tessera ricaricabile, in dove si può scegliere i vini ed avere tutte le info per un’eventuale acquisto. L’ho trovato un posto spettacolare. Il giorno dopo la degustazione e lo spuntino, siamo tornati a fare uno stock di salumi e formaggi super. Provatelo.

We stopped at the Falorni butcher shop for an afternoon snack in authentic Tuscan style. We ordered a sandwich and a schiacciata with finocchiona and pecorino, but they mistakenly arrived at our table with ham and pecorino. We pointed out the mistake, they immediately apologized and made the sandwich again with the requested ingredients, but suddenly, we were pleasantly stunned when a platter of finocchiona and pecorino arrived at our table, accompanied by Schiacciata and homemade bread, offered by the staff. Now, we don't know if it is a gesture to further apologize for the small mistake made or if it is normal, but the kindness of the gesture reminds us of the Italy that once was and this is priceless. Thank you !

LESS IS MORE A meat shop with an ancient Tuscan tradition, tasty recipes from times gone by, it's a shame that the tourist standardization is a bit of a vaudeville! I am obviously referring to the bistro, my advice is to remove the superfluous and focus more deeply on the story, the pure one! Good cuts and preparations at the counter, quality free-range poultry and a good selection of native sheep meat.

08/03/2025: I ate the pizza, which was too thin for my taste, then I had it with cooked ham, which was cooked so it became dry and salty, in short, I wasn't 100% satisfied.
06/02/2025: Optimal! Both in the food (especially the tortelli) and in the service. Definitely coming back!

Il Castagno

05/04/2025: Ancient trattoria with adjoining shop in an old building, perhaps a customs house from a few centuries ago. Of course, when you enter these places you don't expect a restaurant with frills but you always think you can eat traditional dishes. The dishes were sometimes satisfying, sometimes less so if the croutons had a good accompaniment, especially the livers, it was unfortunate that French bread was used instead of the excellent Tuscan bread they presented. The cured meats are also good, the dried sausage and finocchiona while the capocollo and ham are so-so; instead of the cracklings which were from a scarce supermarket, two slices of lard made a better impression. What can we say compared to good table service, there is a cuisine that should improve at least in the preparation of the first courses.
15/12/2024: Abbiamo pranzato in questa osteria, prendendo crostini di fegatini con tartufo (buoni e ben conditi), ravioli di patate al ragù (anche questi delicati con un ottimo ragù), tagliata (superlativa), torta di castagne e cantucci. Il tutto accompagnato da un buon chianti Cosa non trascurabile, il conto più che onesto. Consigliatissimo
