We ate shanks with mashed potatoes and tiramisu, we can't wait to go back to try the first courses.

We've been wanting to try this Hostaria Milanese for a long time. We are 6 friends in search of genuine flavours, the flavors of home kitchens, when grandmothers and mothers spent their days cleaning vegetables, rolling pasta, preparing broth, tomato sauce... In short, everything that we remember the years gone by (gastronomically speaking). Here we found the authenticity and true flavors of home cooking. The dishes arrive like this, without any "frills" or strange plating, nice (generous) portions. We opened with some very sweet raw ham, very good, some of us could smell the walnuts and I thought I could smell the slightest bit of smoke... Next we tried the gnocchi with gorgonzola and pistachio and those with tomato and sausage, delicious! ! then the goulash, the ossobuco with homemade puree (there were pieces of boiled potato). We ended the evening with tiramisu and crèm caramel. Everything delicious, fresh, excellent raw materials. I would also add the genuineness of the staff: kind, always attentive, maybe we waited a little, but in my opinion this is how you enjoy an evening with friends in front of an excellent dinner. Not like "temporary restaurants" when I happen to make a reservation and on the phone they tell me "at 7.30pm or 9.30pm?" I usually reply... "neither of the two times, thanks, I was looking for a place to have dinner, not a restaurant to do a speed race". A small note on the environment: like the taverns of the past, bare, essential, but clean and tidy. Dear Hosteria della Lanterna, you will see us again soon, very soon, thank you!!

Family-run trattoria, excellent home cooking for lunch only with first courses and for sampling quality cold cuts and cheeses. Gnocchi are the strong dish
exquisite. You always need to book. We will go to dinner to try the second courses too.

+ Had my last meal in Milan here. Homemade flavor and cozy atmosphere. Food is vey authentic, not made for attract tourists at all. Good price for the lunch meal: water +espresso+ pasta=10 euros. Tiramisu is amazing here!!
- stuff doesn’t speak English, but it’s fine.

Ottimo per un pranzo di lavoro, costo contenuto. Personalmente non ho apprezzato molto gli gnocchi, ma siamo usciti tutti con la pancia piena.

Arrivati prima dell’apertura del pranzo, abbiamo prenotato un tavolo.
Cucina semplice, ma con prodotti ottimi e prezzi onesti. A pranzo, poca scelta. No secondi. Arrivati alle 12,20, alle 13 ci è stato chiesto di lasciare il tavolo perché prenotato.
Bisognava dirlo alla prenotazione.
Conclusioni: buono per chi lavora e ha fretta. Non buono per gli altri… almeno a pranzo.

Pro:
Locale molto bello, porzioni abbondanti e con un discreto rapporto qualità prezzo.
Contro:
Si possono scegliere solo i primi e dalla cucina si sentivano delle persone litigare…
Posto con grande potenziale, se nel menù aggiungessero pochi secondi con i contorni sarebbe perfetto.
