We had a great time, just steps from the Duomo, but with excellent quality/price ratio. Top Sicilian dishes, very hospitable service and welcome.

Excellent food, a very central location, and a lovely atmosphere! The staff was excellent, quick, and super helpful. A good atmosphere is the most important thing, especially when combined with good food, and here you get both at super affordable prices! If you're not sure where to go, I'd highly recommend this little piece of Sicily just steps from Milan's Duomo! I'll definitely be back.

L’antica Osteria Stendhal è un grazioso locale che ricorda i bistrot parigini, incastonato nel quartiere artistico di Brera tra le vie Ancona, San Marco e Solferino.Il menu propone piatti della tradizione con una ricerca particolare sulle materie prime ed offre proposte per soddisfare tutti i gusti: una selezione di antipasti originali, primi piatti con paste fresche, secondi piatti sia di carne che di pesce, diverse insalate e taglieri di salumi e formaggi.L’ambiente è semplice con un gusto un po’ retro: un grande bancone bar in legno vi accoglie all'ingresso, insieme a pezzi di modernariato ed agli immancabili riferimenti allo scrittore Stendhal, che amava definirsi “il Milanese”.

07/12/2025: I ordered about ten Sicilian cannoli, a cassata cake, and a variety of pastries. I've never had such good cannoli, and the cake is the same. I'm giving it 5 stars simply because there's no way I could give it more.
28/11/2025: Wide selection of croissants, all excellent. I had a very good Veneziana and an excellent coffee. Prices are a bit higher than average, but honestly, I can't complain about the quantity and quality. I was a bit perplexed that, even though I was alone at the counter, they made me pay before receiving the croissant, placing it behind the counter, and then handing it to me only after I had paid by debit card. Honestly, something like this has never happened to me before, and in my opinion, it creates a certain distance and lack of empathy between the manager and the customer.
