We ate at the main restaurant in the center of Palermo! A charming place! The Milan location has several good products and a spacious dining area, but it doesn't have the same appeal. Still, it's worth eating there or stopping by for a snack or the famous cassata...

L’antica Osteria Stendhal è un grazioso locale che ricorda i bistrot parigini, incastonato nel quartiere artistico di Brera tra le vie Ancona, San Marco e Solferino.Il menu propone piatti della tradizione con una ricerca particolare sulle materie prime ed offre proposte per soddisfare tutti i gusti: una selezione di antipasti originali, primi piatti con paste fresche, secondi piatti sia di carne che di pesce, diverse insalate e taglieri di salumi e formaggi.L’ambiente è semplice con un gusto un po’ retro: un grande bancone bar in legno vi accoglie all'ingresso, insieme a pezzi di modernariato ed agli immancabili riferimenti allo scrittore Stendhal, che amava definirsi “il Milanese”.

We were treated very poorly. We understand that not everyone needs to speak foreign languages, but when you're providing service, availability and a willingness to understand should be essential. We asked a few questions about the menu, but the responses were rude and unhelpful. Not fully understanding, we took a while to choose what to order, which clearly annoyed the wait staff. In the end, we ate dishes we'd chosen somewhat haphazardly and didn't like. Even when we asked for directions to the bathroom, we received a rude response. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this place.

Posto carino, buon servizio (magari sistemerei i tavolini ballonzolanti), menu’ completo e interessante. Ottimi i frittini al latte, accettabili per Milano i piatti alla Norma. Posto turistico e da pausa di mezzogiorno, migliore della media di questi posti

08/09/2025: From granitas to cannoli, it's a moment to feel like you're in Sicily. Everything is really delicious with excellent quality products, all surrounded by an efficient staff. And then, as the icing on the cake, there's Paolo, who with his kindness and irony manages to pamper you, making you feel at ease while spending a wonderful afternoon in good company... I recommend you take a look and if you're not into sweets, there are also excellent arancini and more... go and discover the rest 😜
03/09/2025: I come from outside Milan specifically for the excellent Sicilian granita, delicious Sicilian cannoli, and excellent brioches. Very friendly staff. I always love coming back 😘

26/07/2025: Excellent; truly excellent dishes expertly prepared, with competent and very courteous service. The quality/price ratio is also excellent. What more can I say? WELL DONE!
23/04/2025: With my friend Simone, after an appointment at 59 via Savona, we said to each other: "where shall we have lunch?". Taaac at 57 we discover this trattoria and Madame Maria who serves us all of Palermo at a reasonable price (for the area) with an original and tasty flavour. Super fennel sasizza.
