If you're passing by and hungry, it's fine, but I'd say no to coming here on purpose. It's funny, but the Milanese version is definitely better! A real shame. My eggplant rolls were badly reheated... but how little respect can you have for tourists who, perhaps reading the famous name, come here specifically! Not recommended.

The spleen sandwiches are very good. This is a quaint place worth trying. Reasonable prices.

We ate well; the cazzilli and panelle sandwiches were phenomenal (even though they lacked lemon). The beef steak Palermo-style was a pleasant surprise, as was the arancini al burro. The pasta with sardines was too heavy with sardines and had a heavy liquid in the bottom of the dish, which was a bit disgusting, and in fact I left more than half the plate (it wasn't at all like the dish advertised by the restaurant here on Maps in the first photo). The baked anelletti were good. Overall, a lovely atmosphere in an area steeped in history. The restaurant is divided in two: the ground floor is reserved for street food, and the mezzanine floor is reserved for the restaurant (you can also book). I've included photos of the menu with prices as of March 2026 because they weren't widely advertised. The waiters could also greet you when you enter and smile; without us customers, you wouldn't be working. Ultimately, it's worth a visit, but I recommend the street food on the ground floor.

Overall, the service was too "self-service" and the attention was barely adequate. We ordered sardines, which was fine; parmigiana was good; baked rings were okay but cold, so they were poorly served. The spleen sandwich was okay, especially for those who don't like strong flavors. The sfincione was a particular disappointment; the dough was dry and hard, something you wouldn't expect from a focacceria. When heated in the microwave, it reached the fatal combination of being flabby on top and a brick on the bottom. We left it there. Overall 2.5/5. I'm giving it 3 stars to round up.
