Alvolo Cibi da Strada In Pavia

06-03-2025 Friends and I made a reservation at this place, which I hadn't heard of. Like all places in downtown Pavia, parking isn't easy, and only on the outskirts. The place is small but very welcoming and well-maintained. We sat down and scanned the QR code to choose the Anvedi! sandwich (€12.00) from the menu, intrigued by the coppa di testa (head pork shoulder) paired with anchovies, as well as the puntarelle salad and salsa verde. Bite after bite, you could taste the quality of the individual ingredients, but overall, the flavors cancel out, resulting in a bland sandwich. We ordered a plate of bread and salami (€10.00) and a Lucanian platter (€12.00) consisting of fillet and capocollo (pork neck) larded with Aglianico from Lucanian black pigs. The cured meats on both dishes were decent but nothing special. We washed it all down with a bottle of 2016 Barbera Strafilo from Oltrepo Pavese (€20.00). It was a pleasant wine and paired well with our food, but the price was a bit high considering it's a simple local wine. Overall, a good place with quality products, but if not paired properly, they don't really shine. The prices are a bit high. 24-06-2025 Recommended Sandwich (€12.00) with Bologna PGI mortadella, sun-dried tomatoes in oil, burrata, and pistachio pesto. Overall, it was good, especially when you bite into the cherry tomato, which adds a touch of flavor. The exact type of bread needs reconsidering; it's too soft and has too much crumb; a "michetta" would have been fantastic! brAmalo (€15.00) with raw Bra sausage, goat cheese, caramelized onion, hazelnut crumble, Parmigiano Reggiano, and anchovy mayo. Pleasant on the palate, thanks in part to the crunchiness of the bread, but too many ingredients, with the goat cheese flavor prevailing. A Genovese (€13.00) is beef and onions topped with pecorino romano. The filling is very tasty, but the bread doesn't enhance it. A bottle of Campale 2022 (€27.00)...not bad, and a bottle of Da NORD 2020 (€28.00), left to breathe and cool slightly (18-20°C), was very good. 25-07-2026 I tried this place again and was pleased to note the change in bread type for the Recommended sandwich (€13.00), which is now crispier and creates a pleasant texture for the filling. Taglierino (€9.00), a single portion with cooked pancetta and Emmental, good but too little for the price. The Neapolitan-style pasta frittatina with cacio e pepe sauce (€8.00) is very good and I recommend trying it. Quality products, at slightly high prices. Very friendly owners.

A hidden gem. It was delicious 🤤 I can highly recommend, kind service and had one of the best meals in Italy. Have the black hummus, the meatballs in tomato sauce and if you like meat, have the “Bramalo” panini. We sat outside as it was fully booked inside, so make sure you reserve :)

Try it. It's all delicious. Their Cumenda sandwich is the BOMB!

Stopped by for a quick lunch and had an amazing portobello sandwich. The sandwich was massive and one of the best portobello’s I’ve ever had. Staff was friendly and attentive and spoke some English. Great place, highly recommend for a tasty low key meal.

On Saturday we went to this place in the center of Pavia. We received a great welcome, they reserved a nice table for us, the menu was excellent, varied and with generous portions, and their craft beers were excellent... Well done... Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.
