I'm back here because I've already reviewed Alvolo Panini e Cucina in the past for their delicious sandwiches and pasta frittatas, which remain a firm favourite (especially the Genoese version). Following them on Instagram, I saw that, in addition to sandwiches, they've also added dishes, and curiosity got the better of me. I tried the Genoese pasta: tasty, made just right, rich yet balanced, with that full flavor that only a Genoese dish cooked slowly can achieve. It's nice to return to a place you've already loved and discover that it's growing without losing its identity. Consistently high quality, clear ideas, and plenty of substance. And if you don't know where to have lunch in Pavia, there's only one answer: Al volo panini e cucina.

Al volo never disappoints. The menu is varied and frequently updated, always featuring top-quality ingredients and refined pairings. The atmosphere is warm, and Laura and Roberta are hospitable and helpful. Last but not least, the wine list is both innovative and refined. A place to definitely return!

06/01/2026: Today I treated myself to a special lunch break. On my way to work, I stopped for lunch at the Osteria del Campanile. It was a flavorful experience that takes you back to grandmothers' old recipes. I ate maltagliati with beef sauce, an explosion of old-fashioned aromas and flavors. I highly recommend you try it, you won't regret it.

06/12/2025: This is truly a fortunate time for me: I'm increasingly encountering restaurants that fully deserve 5 stars! This time, for work, I found myself having lunch in the splendid Oltrepò Pavese, specifically in Rivanazzano Terme. The Oltrepò is a wonderful region in Lombardy, located on the border with Piedmont and Emilia: a crossroads that enriches the local cuisine with delightful influences from all three regions. In a simple, family-friendly atmosphere, I enjoyed flavorful, well-cooked, and carefully presented dishes. Thanks to the kindness of my companions, I sampled several courses, which allows me to review this restaurant with full knowledge of the facts. All the dishes I tried deserve 5 stars, but one in particular, in my humble opinion, deserves 6: the cappuccino appetizer with poached egg, truffle, and mushroom cream. A true symphony of flavors, capable of winning you over from the first bite! All the dishes were excellent, beautifully plated, and complemented by friendly, informal service. The hostess expertly and passionately explained the dishes' characteristics, adding a touch of authenticity to the experience. In short: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
