A'Lumeredda In Malfa

A HIGHLIGHT of our trip to Sicily!!! Some of the best food we've ever eaten. And the service was so helpful. Very generous wine pours. And the atmosphere was beautiful. HIGHLY recommended!

Exceptional. Best octopus ever, very kind and helpful owners and waitresses, beautiful outdoor setting with a nice grandfather who played the accordion and completed the atmosphere. We will be back

Get your fill of local caper dishes here! The spaghetti with caper pesto and the house white wine is a great combination. My husband loved the pasta with shrimp and pistachios. We went back for pizza and didn't enjoy it as much as the pasta though

A beautiful setting, tucked on a quiet path, with nice flowering bushes and hand painted columns. A very extensive and healthy menu. I enjoyed the grilled swordfish and also ordered grilled vegetables with a glass of Prosecco. My husband said it was the best Pasta Norma that he has tasted. I hear their pizza is amazing!

Malfa has some very nice restaurants, including some which are pretty upscale. A" Lumeredda, which is Sicilian for lamplit, is not an upscale place. It is located on a narrow alley which is called Via San Lorenzo, which is a little dark at night. From the outside, this place doesn't look like much, but the food is so good that this place shouldn't be missed when you just want to eat in a trattoria. It's a family business, and the owner and his family are so friendly. They don't speak much English, but it doesn't matter; they speak enough to keep the customer happy. There are about twenty different kinds of pizza. I picked out one called Pizza Lucrezia, which had an Italian cold-cut called bresaola on it (air dried beef.) The salads were very good as well. As an atmospheric treat, they bring to the table an alcohol-and-sugar-fueled lantern which some tourists didn't understand was just for show. Anyway, this is a great sleeper of a place for excellent pizza and very reasonable. The owner talked me out of buying a bottle of wine and suggested the house wine, which came in a carafe for much less than half the price of a bottle, but it was very tasty (probably nero d'avola.) A great value and glad we tried it.

Nice unpretentious restaurant. Some great caper based dishes including “antipasto locale” and a pasta with capers, mint and ricotta salata.

I was trying to find somewhere for dinner for our first night in Malfa and stumbled across this lovely restaurant. We walked over an hour after opening and we were seated immediately. It had been raining earlier so everyone was seated in the covered area, but I'm sure the rest of the patio is great on days with better weather. The patrons seemed like a general mix of tourists and locals as the night went on. Let's get to the food, it was amazing and very reasonably priced. We took a gamble and decided to treat ourselves a bit (hence our tab probably higher than most others), but everything we ordered was sooo delicious. The marinated anchovies, the octopus, the seafood pasta, the sea bass (special of the night), and tiramisu. We definitely left there happy and full. We haven't left yet and may be going back before we do! Definitely would recommend! (Again, the price per person I listed was because we ordered a lot, you could easily dine two people for well under 50€)

We caught the fish of the day, a treat!!! The products are fresh and of good quality. The service is very pleasant. The only downside was that an accordionist came right next to us to play music (a little) too loudly, we had trouble hearing each other. Despite everything, we had a pleasant time.
