All'Orto De' Pecci In Siena

Especially the pizza was very nice. Actually, it was a period when I couldn't eat much because I was pregnant, but the pizza was so good it didn't bother me. Only our understanding of soup is different from the Italian's, it was more like puree, I didn't like it.

A great place with even better service and delicious food. When in Siena, it's really worth eating there.

It's hard to describe how delicious this place is. Great location in a quiet place. An excellent menu at definitely attractive prices. I can say that during my week-long stay in Siena, I had the best dinner there. Dinner was on Sunday without reservations, but despite reservations for the entire place, an additional table was provided for me and my wife, which was very nice. The staff is very nice and helpful, and the place itself is visited mainly by locals. I recommend it 100 times.

A stone's throw from Piazza del Campo but surrounded by nature among donkeys and goats. Delightful place!

It wouldn't take much... to make this place perfect, inclusive and suitable for everyone, even celiacs! I have celiac disease and despite knowing that the restaurant was not part of the AIC circuit, I decided to stop for lunch with my family, encouraged by the rich menu with gluten-free options and attracted by the magnificent park that hosts it. Confident that it would be enough to ask for the usual precautions, before ordering I was understandably warned that there were no separate kitchens and that contamination could not be ruled out, so I tried to order the risotto but was told that the kettle was the same one in which the pasta was boiled, so I switched to the second one, asking to be careful to ensure that the meat did not come into contact with gluten. Faced with this last request, it was specified to me, once again, that non-contamination would have required a deep cleaning of the grill which could not be done at that moment and that "gluten allergy in any case does not have serious effects" . At that point, after calmly specifying that a normally clean corner of the grill would have been enough, I accept the risk conditions and get ready to enjoy lunch anyway. I tasted the cheese starter and ate my pork steak with its side of potatoes (gluten-free), I was also brought a pack of slices of schar bread (gluten-free). Everything was delicious and of high quality, especially the meat. However, to be honest, I must say that I was ill afterwards. Without wanting to attribute the responsibility to the restaurant but assuming it entirely, I wanted to include this review due to the feeling of regret with which I said goodbye, at least for the moment, to this place. My accusation is therefore not but a manifestation of displeasure at the thought that such a beautiful place with tasty, quality food cannot be appreciated by everyone, without distinction, even by celiac, intolerant or allergic people. It doesn't take much to guarantee a minimum level of safety, just knowledge and attention, you don't necessarily need a second kitchen, even just a clean corner or a second kettle dedicated only to risottos is enough. Small precautions, which however cannot be reduced to bringing a sealed package of bread if the rest is not completely safe, small precautions that eliminate differences and make a meal a moment of communion for everyone. I hope one day to be able to recommend this place to anyone suffering from any serious food problem, I will then be very happy to return and enjoy it in all its beauty.

Torniamo qui dopo 1 anni esatto, ritrovando la stessa atmosfera e il panorama verde, appena alle spalle del centro di Siena. Cucina sempre casereccia, piatti semplici e locali, porzioni toscane. Peccato manchi un piatto preparato al momento - dove poter togliere o aggiungere ingredienti a scelta (ad esempio senz’aglio) per gli allergici. Consigliato!

Si mangia sempre bene, pici ottimi, filetto delizioso. Cortesi. Necessario prenotare. Bellissimo l'esterno. Dietro Piazza del Campo.Adatto a famiglie, adatto a persone con esigenze alimentari.
