When I return to Venzone, this is my favorite restaurant!!!

Still as pleasant and essential for cyclists using the greenway.

We stopped here for a pasta lunch while on bikes from Gemona Del Friuli, it was little disappointing. They only have a few pasta dishes on the menu and they didn't have half of them. Maybe because it was Monday and Sundays are usually closed? My artichoke pasta was ok, the duck ragout tasted a bit like goulash. Wine was good for a good price. Overall it was ok but I don't think I would come again.

So, here's the thing: The vegetarian selection was rather poor; basically, you could only choose between two vegetarian main courses. The cooked vegetables were just completely tasteless spinach... we practically emptied the entire salt shaker on it, and it was still bland. The fried potatoes seemed really good at first, but after about 5 minutes, they got cold and were completely dry. We realized they were pre-made potato wedges (we saw this later by the kitchen window). We had the same problem with the salad. It was simply a pre-mixed salad from the supermarket, served to us carelessly without any dressing. We had to add the dressing ourselves. The pasta was decent, but nothing special. The Aperol Spritz was really very good and only cost €4. So, it's worth recommending just for the drinks, as the location was charming. We had a wonderful evening here. We received a very warm welcome. The outdoor area was impeccably clean. We were given excellent advice on our food choices – even in German! The quality of the food, including the dessert, was as good as only a holiday meal can be... 🥰 Thank you so much! 😇

A big plus of this place is that you can eat there at times when other restaurants are closed. Prices are normal. However, I wasn't entirely thrilled with the flavors of the pastas we ordered.

Right in the heart of the beautiful village square. Very friendly staff and homemade pesto.
