If you are ever in the quaint town Barga, stop off here at this local spot. It’s a combination of a market, a bar, and a place to eat food. They have pasta (obviously), but other items too. I ate the Caprese salad and my husband had the hamburger (he said it was delicious).

31/08/2025: One of the best menu’s I have had for a while! We had the oysters (AMAZING!) and the raw sea food platter for starters and the sea food risotto as primi. And all were of the highest quality. Great wine pairing and deserts made it a perfect evening! HIGHLY recommended!
31/08/2025: A beautiful seaside restaurant, open year-round. The seafood is top-notch, with special mention for the fried sole, the wild herb salad, and the catch of the day. It's a shame I've never had the spaghetti with clams, but perhaps that's also a sign of the quality and freshness of the cuisine. The wine list is excellent, and the service is always very courteous and friendly. Perhaps a little overpriced.

Pizzeria Fuori di Piazza

15/09/2025: An evening with friends at this historic Lucca restaurant, which used to be my Thursday lunch stop with schoolmates in the early '90s when it was called "Fratelli Bandiera"... and a lot of water has passed under the bridge, and I've found the place much improved!! But above all, kudos to the people who run it—I don't know their name, but at the cash register, like the person who churned out pizzas, focaccias, calzones, and more...and also to the staff serving tables, all welcoming, friendly, helpful, kind, and quick. The cooked focaccia and mozzarella and cecina were very, very good. Wait for me, I'll be back soon! Katia
13/09/2025: Excellent food in a beautiful square shaded by plane trees. What more could you ask for?! I was in Lucca 4 years ago and am returning today. When I thought about what to eat, I immediately thought of coming here. The platter is truly excellent, just as I remembered it!
