There is a corner of Valpolicella where time seems to slow down, where the scent of the wood-fired oven mixes
with that of good wine and the welcome has the flavor of home. that, yesterday, I stopped: Al Ritrovo, in
Negrar.
A large, bright place, with a convivial atmosphere, that welcomes you with a long counter where hundreds of
corks rest in transparent containers, like relics of past toasts, each with a story to
tell. a glance that says a lot: here the wine of Valpolicella is not served, it is celebrated.
The menu is an invitation to travel between land and sea, between tradition and taste. There is zero-mile meat, there is fresh
fish, there are pizzas, cooked with skill in the wood-fired oven. Everything speaks of balance, passion,
attention.
I chose a classic that never disappoints: the mixed fried seafood. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
Small and tender squid, meaty squid rings, juicy prawns, all wrapped in a light golden brown,
dry, fragrant like a coastal breeze. A generous portion, to share but hard to pass up.
An ode to fried food done well.
Next to me, a pizza stole the show. Next to me, a pizza stole the show. Not mine, but the one served to a friend, who let me
admire it as one does with a work of art: pizza with speck and fresh truffle flakes, added raw,
just out of the oven. A soft and well-cooked dough, the elegant flavor of the speck and then that deep
and seductive scent of the truffle that, with every bite, seemed to tell of a walk in an autumn forest.
All for ten euros. Ten.
"Al Ritrovo" is one of those places where you return. For the cuisine, of course, but also for that feeling of being
in the right place, at the right time. L , between corks, smiles, sincere dishes and wines of the land, a simple and precious idea is celebrated: the pleasure of feeling good, at the table and in life.

We had dinner 3 nights at this place, very close to the Kona Hotel, where we were staying.
The place is nice and clean.
We tried both the first and second courses.
The food was very good.

Pranzo con famigliari. Bel posto. Rustico e accogliente. Buona la varietà del menù. Buona la qualità dei piatti sia le pizze che quelli di cucina. Buono anche il rapporto qualità prezzo. Merita però una menzione il servizio (per il quale do un voto in più) i ragazzi molto gentili e disponibili, premurosi senza essere asfissianti, veramente… top! Questa era la seconda esperienza qui al Ritrovo… sebbene nei dintorni ci siano parecchi buoni locali… lo consigliamo e ci torneremo!
