Al Petes Vino e Cibo in Cittavecchia In Trieste

Family atmosphere Friendly people. Service a bit slow. I chose the tasting menu (€70) which included 3 delicious starters while the main courses, a first course with cacio e pepe and a second course with octopus, did not convey any emotion to me and in my opinion lacked identity. Excellent quality of products. Perhaps too small portions. If I were to return I would not choose the tasting route, not recommended. In addition to the price of the tasting route there is the price of bread and cover charge, in my opinion a bizarre choice. There is no wine tasting route on the menu.

Quiet and elegant space for our party of 4 to dine in. Promptly seated when we arrived with our reservation. The pasta and clams dish that I ordered to start needed more flavour but my husband’s gnocchi dish was very flavourful. The grilled octopus dish was very well done, however the turbot fish dish that was served that evening was prepared as a “fish cake ring” that surprised our table and wasn’t quite explained that well. The servers seemed to be quite curt and abrupt with us and we it made us feel slightly like we were inconveniencing them. Overall felt the food was inconsistent for each dish (either great or not really) and experience was average.

I went to dinner with my son in early April, after making a selection on the internet and it was a truly pleasant experience, starting from the welcome in an intimate and quiet environment, an accurate and attentive service with the right times between one course and another. I would like to be closer to return with joy!!!!!

Impeccable restaurant in the historic center

The Al Petes restaurant in Trieste completely impressed me with its tasting menu. The quality of the food is outstanding - creatively prepared, finely balanced in taste and prepared with great attention to detail. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the excellent price-performance ratio: the menu is surprisingly inexpensive for the quality offered. The wine selection is impressive. There is a wide range of local and international positions, and the staff provides competent and unobtrusive advice - perfectly tailored to the individual courses. The service as a whole is also very attentive, friendly and professional, without seeming stiff. The rooms are a small drawback: the dining room seems a bit cold and matter-of-fact, which doesn't quite do justice to the otherwise warm and enjoyable experience. With a little more atmosphere in the interior, the experience could be even more rounded. Nevertheless: From a culinary point of view, Al Petes is absolutely recommendable - a real discovery in Trieste for everyone who appreciates high-quality cuisine at fair prices.

Probabilmente in questo momento è il miglior ristorante di Trieste. All' interno della Guida Michelin. Cucina di territorio in forma creativa. Begli ambienti. D'estate è presente anche un bel dehors. Il plus? La pasticceria...da stella!

Excellent restaurant with great food and impeccable staff!

Il locale è carino e abbastanza accogliente, il servizio efficiente, la carta dei vini interessante, ma sopratutto il cibo è squisito, delicato e originale. Una menzione speciale per i memorabili fusilli con cicale di mare e per gli irresistibili dolci, fra cui il golosissimo rigojanci e l’originale cioccolato bianco con rafano.
