Good food , nice wine. Well presented. Wine was good though it did feel a little like asking for a view on the best pairing was a little too much trouble.

A really good experience. We went for a few local wines recommended by the waiter - all amazing and spot in to our taste.

Food was amazing as well.
Spaghetti clams, very “ocean” fresh tasty, the fish perfect.
The octopus cooked to perfection. the rabbit ravioli was fantastic.
Really good value and recommendation.

I expected to eat well but I was wrong: I ate very well! Exquisite fish tasting menu, surprising combinations and super presentation of dishes. Excellent wine, helpful and attentive staff. Fast and super friendly service, can't wait to go back! Well done!

We went to this place to celebrate birthday, and for sure this evening will be remembered. Great service, everybody is smilling and are keen to help, food is just marvelous, lettuce in a dish with pigeon is simply amazing trust me, you won't regret. So if you are in Trieste, simply come and eat here. Seriously.

Al Petes did not disappoint, on the contrary. Food (tasting menu in our case) was wonderful with a nice variety, presentation and not the least taste. Impeccable service, topped by a nice, energetic and passionate sommerlier. The outdoor seating was providing a lovely, quiet and cosy atmosphere.

All in all it was a very good experience. The recommendation for the wine was spot on and the 2016 Pinot Grigio was very very good. Food balanced with nice flavours. Some good combination of flavours. The octopus and the rabbit ravioli were outstanding, also the turbot was very good. Excellent price value. 65€ for a 6 courses degustation menu is an exceptional value for money. Will be back 100%. Recommend for people that appreciate fine dining, if you want the usual Trieste restaurant then don’t come here as you will be disappointed.
