I was craving seafood and ended up here. It was a bit pricey, but the atmosphere was nice. Lunch was listed as starting at 12:30, so I went there and waited, but was told to wait another 20 minutes. I think I was shown back after about 10 minutes. First off, the seating wasn't great. People kept coming and going, probably because it was next to the employee entrance, which was a bit uncomfortable. The food wasn't particularly good, but the seafood dishes were mostly unique.

Our evening was enhanced by Nico's attentive and expert service, who proved to be a true partner in our choices. He patiently answered our questions and guided us through the menu, particularly by presenting us with the magnificent display of fresh fish of the day—a promise of quality that the dishes delivered on. • Savory Antipasti: The starter with slices of toasted bread topped with burrata, cherry tomatoes, and a salted anchovy was a bold and refreshing start, as was the smoked salmon toast. The cheese platter, accompanied by fresh figs, offered an elegant break from surf and turf, with a bay leaf adding an aromatic touch.
• Treasures of the Water: The grilled octopus was exquisitely tender, seasoned just right to let the flavors of the product fully express themselves, bathed in a drizzle of olive oil. We also succumbed to the irresistible dish of small fried fish and homemade chips, enhanced with fried green and red chilies, a rustic and terrifically addictive sharing dish.
• The Highlight: The main course, spaghetti al'astice (with lobster), is undoubtedly the house's signature dish. The pasta, perfectly al dente, was topped with a rich, fragrant tomato and herb sauce, and the majestic lobster was generously fleshy and vibrantly fresh. A memorable dish, served on a magnificent personalized plate bearing the owner's name, "Da Onofrio."
A Sweet Conclusion
To finish on a high note, a dessert of sliced peaches in white wine (an old tradition), served in a beautifully crafted glass, brought a touch of fruity freshness, simple and perfect.
In short, Al Pescatore Da Onofrio is a must-visit for anyone looking to taste the best of Bari cuisine, in a vibrant atmosphere and with heartfelt service. We will definitely be back!

Exceptional dining experience at Al Pescatore!
The food was outstanding — the oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious, and every dish we tried was beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, with just the right noise level for conversation.
What truly made the experience special was the service. Our waiter, Edoardo, was exceptionally professional, patient, and attentive. He went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests and gave us excellent recommendations for both food and wine.
We especially loved the Primitivo Rosé he suggested — it paired perfectly with our seafood carpaccio. Edoardo’s care and attention really elevated our evening.
We strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bari — especially if you’re looking for fresh seafood, a warm welcome, and a memorable experience.

I discovered the restaurant on social media. I had high expectations, but in reality, the raw fish platter cost us around €90, and it's not the dish shown in the videos.
I really expected much better. The food here in our city is much better. Aside from the terrible service and the poor raw fish, I felt cheated.

Last lunch before leaving Puglia and we wanted to finish with a fritto misto di pesche. The BnB next door had recommended this restaurant to us and we did well to listen. It was delicious, the staff were friendly and professional.

Locale alle porte di Bari Vecchia, molto elegante (e costoso) ma con prodotti di primissima qualità.
Il banco del pescato del giorno è una vera delizia per gli occhi.
Personale capace che che sa anche guidarti sia sulle scelte gastronomiche, sia su quelle enologiche (nel caso in cui non si abbia voglia di leggere una carta dei vini di 41 pagine.
Benvenuto con la focaccia barese e poi via con antipasti crudi e cotti, ricottine prodotte da loro, u primo e un secondo.
Offerta di un piatto di carote ghiacciate come defatigante a fine pasto e limoncello offerto

Le repas était correct mais le prix du carpaccio de thon facturé 300 grammes alors qu'il y avait environ 120 g dans l'assiette (je suis restaurateur) le maître d'hôtel a essayé d'argumenter en disant que le poids incluait les arrêtes, la tête, la peau etc...
