I had dinner at the Pescatore restaurant and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, as was the service. In addition to the indoor dining room, the restaurant also has a comfortable outdoor terrace overlooking the sea, where I dined, satisfying not only the palate but also the view. To sum it up in one word: excellent.

I had the great pleasure of dining at Al Pescatore yesterday evening with my sister and aunt, and I would never have expected to find such exceptionally fresh fish, top-quality ingredients, and simple yet refined flavors. If you enjoy raw fish, I highly recommend the crudo selection (prawns, riccio di mare, mackerel, tuna) – it was outstanding. For those who prefer more robust, earthy flavors, the octopus and pecorino meatballs are a must-try. We each ordered different main courses, and they were all equally delicious: linguine with mixed seafood, spaghetti with tuna and bottarga, and ravioli with prawns and burrata. The waiter was knowledgeable and helped us choose the perfect white wine to pair with our meal. They also served us freshly baked bread and traditional Pugliese tarallucci. Portions were generous, the quality was excellent, and the staff were kind, attentive, and well-prepared. The location couldn’t be better – right on the seafront in the heart of Gallipoli.

I dined at Al Pescatore restaurant with my family and a friend, and the experience was truly enjoyable. The location is enchanting, right in front of the city walls, in the heart of the historic center. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with great kindness and professionalism by the wait staff. We chose a menu featuring only seafood and were thrilled. The raw fish was incredibly fresh: tuna tartare, red prawns, and mackerel carpaccio, all with an authentic and delicate flavor. The chef's suggestion of frying mackerel bones was unique and surprising: a true delight, which I absolutely recommend trying if you have the opportunity. We then continued with the first courses: linguine allo scoglio, sgonfiotti stuffed with burrata and prawns, and tagliatelle with tuna tartare and artisanal bottarga. Rich, balanced, and flavorful dishes, enhanced by an excellent Malvasia Salentina recommended by the staff. Another aspect that positively struck us was the opportunity to meet the chef and his family: friendly, passionate, and helpful people, who enthusiastically shared their story and their connection to cooking.

I came to eat with my family and some friends, there were 12 of us in total. We started our dinner with four mixed raw fish dishes to share, which were very good, but we had to wait 40 minutes for them. Afterwards, we ordered first courses, which were very good, the only shame was the quantity.

26/10/2025: Sunday dinner in late October, one of the few places open in the area. A pleasant surprise, both the orecchiette with meatballs and the tripe were excellent, but above all, the delicious almond and fig spumone! It's a shame I don't live nearby, but I'd love to go back.
