I don't eat fish, but since I was invited without warning, I paid the price. Even though there were no meat options (not even a steak), they still accommodated me, with a plate of grilled vegetables and smoked scamorza, and a maccheroncello with tomato and basil that was absolutely perfect. The service is decidedly outdated but extremely efficient, and the owner is a true host. For fish lovers, according to my fellow diners, it's heaven. The place is immaculately clean, which is enough to offset the fact that it's not very modern. But that's the beauty of it.

The food (fish) was nothing special: spaghetti with clams and bottarga with three clams, not enough bottarga and not well-mixed, and anonymous appetizers. The grilled amberjack, however, was excellent; that alone is worth going for, even if the strip of mustard next to it has nothing to do with it; it would kill her—just don't eat it. The service was courteous, but the waitress, despite taking note, made a huge mess by bringing multiple dishes that were not requested and those that were not, only to be remedied later. The atmosphere was pleasant; we were downstairs and it was very quiet to talk. It was adequate, but I won't be returning. I was a guest, so I don't know the cost.

A historic seafood restaurant. Excellent wines and classic dishes. Fair prices for the quality. Friendly and fast staff. Definitely a place to stop.
