First time visiting Modena and this was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! Will definitely be coming back before our trip ends

Al Grottino has been my local pizzeria for several years. The food is always exceptional. The ingredients are excellent quality and the dough is light and perfectly cooked. They do some traditional food from Modena, such as the Vecchia Modena pizza (a famous pizza from the city made with bacon, balsamic vinegar and parmigiano reggiano cheese and mozzarella - I highly recommend!) and also speciality pizzas made with interesting combinations. The service is always reliable, efficient and friendly. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are fantastic. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and is located in a popular area of Modena where there are beautiful clothing and accessory boutiques and popular ice cream shops. I can't suggest this place enough - lunch or dinner, a great restaurant for affordable and delicious Modenese food!

Great place, great food, great pizza! Mister Mirco was an exceptional host for us, very hospitable and friendly! Would reccomend to anyone!

Historic pizzeria in the historic center of Modena. Nothing special, there is better in the area.

Very tasty pizza and appetizers. The waitress was very nice and tried to explain everything about the city to us as best she could. I recommend it to anyone looking for lunch/dinner in Modena!

Storica pizzeria in zona centrale di Modena. La pizza (Napoli, 8 €) , pur senza particolari difetti, non spicca comunque sulla media delle pizzerie della provincia. Servizio un po' approssimativo. Quando poi i camerieri impareranno a pulire i tavoli senza far arrivare la zaffata di detergente nel tavolo accanto sarà un bel giorno per la ristorazione. IVLC365

Stopped in for a quick lunch bite. Not very busy. Drinks came quickly. The prosciutto crudo & parmesan reggiano plate was delicious with a large portion pf prosciutto. the pizza was slow coming and we had to take it to go.
