al Cavallo In Sirmione

I went for lunch for my uncle's 102nd birthday. We were treated very well, even if we had slightly special requests as we were with two elderly people, they were able to manage everything perfectly. Having the holiday home just a few minutes away, I've been coming there for years now, I don't think I'll ever have anything negative to comment on! Super generous portions and very fair prices.

It’s a great pizzeria with other food also being very tasty. Service is good and our flight of ten got a huge offering of limoncello, banancello and pistachiocello for free. With that I don’t mind paying coberto. The service was super friendly and fast. Best compliment: we came back

Restaurant that offers a lot of variety, from meat to fish and pizzas. I tried the mushroom gnocchi (on request without speck). Very generous portion! The only flaw: the service was quite slow, the wait was more than an hour. However, the waiters passed the time by bringing us bread and snacks to munch on! Advised!

We were only in the area for 5 nights but we still managed to eat twice at Al Cavallo as my wife really loved the food here. On our first night we were seated in a an area at the back of the restaurant right underneath a large screen TV which was OK for me as it was showing the football. My wife has a food allergy and despite the language barrier the waitress was able to confirm that the dish she had chosen was allergen-free. I had the chicken schnitzel which was fine but the chips were delicious. On our second visit I had a pizza which was delicious. This restaurant seemed really popular with other Italians and was full on both nights when other places were either closed or half empty. A quick warning if you are a squeamish Brit, this restaurant does serve horse (the clue is in the name) so be warned that you will see it on the menu!
