Al Capitel In Bardolino

My husband and I ate dinner here on the last night of our honeymoon in September 2024 and it was the best meal we had our entire trip. 'Osteria Al Capitel' is not in the busy town centre of Bardolino and we chanced upon it when walking back to our hotel. The romantic candle lit atmosphere drew us in but what really caught our attention was a sign reading 'No bruschetta or pizza'. We had already had our fill of pizza/bruschetta and considering so many of the restaurants in touristic Bardolino do the same food, it was refreshing to discover a restaurant that did fewer dishes, but did them exceptionally well. Often putting their own twist on the familiar. So we enjoyed pike polenta to start and then I had the most delicious smoked trout carbonara pasta for main, while my husband had steak. For dessert I went for tiramisu which did not disappoint and we enjoyed complimentary orangecello to finish. The vibe was intimate and romantic. A really special restaurant to find and ideal for those who want more authentic Italian cuisine that what you will find off the Bardolino promenade. It was the perfect way to end our honeymoon.

An ancient tavern can be deduced from the bathroom... Fair prices small rooms in 2025 it would be nice to have a changing table, there are wall-mounted ones... too bad But I can't imagine an elderly lady with a Turk... Anyway, we ate well and that's what matters most, so for me the vote is extremely positive Not having even booked we can't complain convenient parking. and the entrance from the parking lot is beautiful

The flavor of the wonderful tortelloni stuffed with smoked trout present on the off-menu of the day is already missing... the cuisine was excellent, every dish, a touching delight... to be returned every time you pass through Bardolino. Owner with a radiant smile and very kind. Thanks also to the chef husband for the delicacies.

Family-run tavern where you can breathe the world of the past, furnished with tools that were used many years ago, a limited menu typical of an tavern but with a top quality quality of the products used, all served by the kindness and friendliness of the owners, absolutely worth returning.

Nice restaurant, located right at the entrance to Affi. The food is delicious and goes quickly, the service is also on the ball. The ambience at the parking lot with the fairly frequented smoking area could be improved somewhat, even if the old building is quite charming.

Great Osteria with a feel-good atmosphere. The food was super tasty and can only be recommended. The Osteria is frequented by many Italians, which is a special sign. The service was very friendly and also introduced us to the special offers off the menu. We can only recommend this Osteria and would be happy to come back. 🇮🇹
