Al Canale In Taranto

I could say it's the best restaurant in Taranto. All the dishes are excellent; I recommend the raw seafood, accompanied by a truly exquisite olive oil. A very nice location overlooking the swing bridge, and attentive and helpful staff. Highly recommended ✨

Very nice restaurant near the swing bridge, overlooking the sea. Very friendly staff, fast service, and very kind owners; even though we didn't have a reservation, they still seated us. Delicious food and more than fair prices. We had two appetizers from the five-course menu, a raw ham, two first courses, two desserts, and a bottle of wine. Fantastic seafood.

The staff were extremely friendly, and the quality of the fish was truly fresh, well-prepared, and served. The seafood risotto (a true "graduation" for chefs) was truly perfect. I congratulated the owner for it, but he kindly asked me to pass these compliments directly on to the chef, who was very appreciative. What more can I say? Guests are greeted with the utmost kindness; the service is impeccable. And... the taste of the sea!!!

A beautiful location with a unique view of the canal that connects the Mar Grande and Mar Piccolo. Everything is geared towards a seafood tasting.

Difficult review, because the location is very beautiful and the food was not bad. Some reservations about the prices (definitely higher than average in places of similar quality) and the service. The latter, although courteous and professional, did not put us at ease, with some peaks of "roughness" not exactly pleasant. The main protagonist is the young manager, whose authority is not adequately supported by experience, resulting in being unfriendly and arrogant. The atmosphere, potentially 5-star, was strongly influenced by the fact that we were not allowed to have lunch outside; inside, without air conditioning, the environment was decidedly more "normal", but was strongly altered by the presence of public officials (at least I imagine so, judging by the "blue" cars parked wildly at the entrance complete with regional or state friezes) who, in large numbers, were having lunch at the taxpayers' expense with particularly fine wines. Also because of this presence, the service was slow and rushed. In short: I won't go back, Taranto, if you can't have lunch on the water, has (much) better things.

A great experience for the palate, very fresh fish and superbly cooked. Not to mention the location that in itself deserves five stars plus. In the city of Taranto there is no more iconic place than this, on the navigable canal, almost under the swing bridge, a stone's throw from the castle.

If you are in Taranto and want to eat good fish, you can't miss stopping at 'Al Canale'. The location set in the city of the two seas is also suggestive. I recommend it!!!

Uno dei ristoranti di pesce più famoso di Taranto. Location curata negli interni ma che d’estate offre il meglio con una cena con vista canale del ponte girevole e città nuova. Cucina buona a base di piatto della tradizione tarantina. Servizio gentile e disponibile.

Il Canale è un classico intramontabile della ristorazione tarantina, un locale che conserva un’atmosfera anni ’90, calda e accogliente, ma che risulta sempre attuale grazie alla qualità della sua proposta gastronomica. Qui la cucina di pesce è davvero eccellente, con una particolare attenzione alla freschezza e alla selezione della materia prima. Gli antipasti sono abbondanti e fantasiosi, i primi piatti convincono per sapore e tradizione, mentre i secondi esaltano tutto il meglio del pescato locale. Il servizio è gentile, puntuale e molto professionale. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è corretto Consigliato a chi cerca la vera cucina di mare a Taranto.
