Excellent food, but pay attention to the atmosphere and hospitality We have been frequenting this restaurant for years for the excellent quality of the fish and the always tasty cuisine. However, during our last visit with a 2.5 year old girl, we experienced an unpleasant episode that negatively impacted the experience. Even though the room was almost empty and the little girl was quiet, the arrival of a regular couple attracted all the attention of the staff, and from that moment the service towards us became hasty and distant. When the little girl hummed softly, a brusque gesture from another customer scared her, followed by unkind comments. We advise the staff to take care of the layout of the tables carefully, so that guests do not disturb each other. Everyone — families, couples, young and old — should feel equally welcome. Only in this way will the restaurant be able to continue to attract not only loyal customers, but also new visitors looking for a welcoming and respectful atmosphere, in addition to good food.

Al Caminetto is a restaurant that represents a dear childhood memory, and I went back last night with my family, made up of five people, to celebrate my mother's birthday. We were greeted with courtesy, as always, and we were offered a welcome aperitif and an entrée which created a pleasant initial atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn for the worse during the evening. The wait for the dishes was over an hour, a time that we found excessive. Furthermore, the environment was too noisy, with voices echoing in the room, waiters running from one side of the room to the other, making the atmosphere less relaxed and more chaotic, far from what we expected in a restaurant of this category. As for the food, the quality did not meet expectations. The pastas, described as creamy, were dry and not very tasty, while the fish used for the sauce, although fresh, was served in too small portions. The sea bass, divided in two, was average, but definitely not up to the price, as were the ravioli, which were the only dish that met our tastes. The final part of the dinner, dedicated to desserts, was disappointing. The creme brulee, served from the dessert trolley, was tattered, while the request for fresh strawberries was handled poorly, with the waitress informing us that the strawberries were not ready and needed to be washed and cut. In a restaurant of this level, such lack of preparation is difficult to justify. The final bill of almost 350 euros for three first courses, two second courses, 1 bottle of wine costing €34, 2 desserts and 1 coffee seemed too high to us, especially considering that the sea bass, a simple grilled dish, cost 120 euros for two people. The absence of adequate quality, both in the dishes and in the atmosphere, did not justify this price. Despite the mix-up, the staff were very kind and, as a gesture of courtesy, we were offered two bottles of the restaurant's oil. However, this could not make up for a dinner that, unfortunately, did not meet our expectations, especially considering the positive experiences of past years. This review is intended as constructive criticism, so that Al Caminetto can improve and review some aspects, such as the quality of the food and the atmosphere, to offer an experience that lives up to expectations. We are loyal customers and hope to return soon to be able to have a positive experience again.
