We went on Valentine's Day and had a great time.
The food was excellent, and the service was completely unexpected, considering it was Valentine's Day and the "extra" request for gluten-free.
Although they warned me of possible delays if I chose a gluten-free entree, they were quick and extremely friendly. The best dish was the boiled meat (for celiacs, be careful with the sauce; it's served separately and contains breadcrumbs), but the appetizers and first courses were also truly delicious.
They don't have gluten-free bread, but they did bring me crackers and biscuits.
They also have a wide selection of wines.
When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, who didn't seem particularly friendly, but after that, the service was great.

Excellent experience at the restaurant Al Calmiere, the staff are always friendly and helpful, and the ambience is well-kept and beautiful, especially the large fireplace that dominates the room. The boiled meat trolley and sauces (abundant) are also very nice. The prices are good for being practically in the center of Verona. The only drawbacks are that the risotto all'Amarone is missing (or not always available) and the outdoor parking lot is very crowded due to other nearby restaurants. Overall, a good place, recommended.

A historic restaurant in the quintessential Veronese neighborhood: San Zeno. The food is good and carefully prepared, with the signature dish being the boiled meat with seven pieces of meat and the typical, very peppery pearà sauce, just as it should be. We had the onion soup, the tagliolini with venison and pumpkin, the bigoli with cheek, and the boiled meat. The side vegetables were also excellent. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the desserts, which looked inviting. Prices are a bit high, but we were prepared. The owner, who has been serving boiled meats for 40 years, is in the dining room serving a trolley. The grilled meat cooked in the fireplace in the dining room is a must. The entire staff is friendly; it makes you feel right at home.
