Boiled meat with amazing pearà 🔝 Refined and intimate atmosphere

This restaurant offers traditional Veronese dishes and homemade pasta dishes, all accompanied by a warm atmosphere. The setting is reminiscent of an old-fashioned osteria, with a huge fireplace in the dining room where vegetables and meat are prepared for grilling. The menu isn't overly extensive, but there's plenty to choose from. The bollito misto (mixed boiled meats) served with the typical, expertly prepared peara (a typical pear-shaped pasta dish) is a must. The choice to include minimal side dishes for some meat dishes was a bit odd, while the mixed seasonal vegetable platter (sides not included) wasn't very generous considering the price, but the vegetables were delicious. Revisiting the appetizers, the onion soup was expertly made, and the charcuterie and cheese platter was generous, featuring high-quality ingredients. I honestly wasn't thrilled with the cannelloni with radicchio and cheese, both in terms of quantity and the flavor of the filling (a bit bland). The meat was good, cooked properly, but the bollito (boiled boiled meats) was, in my opinion, the highlight of the evening—truly excellent. I don't know about dessert: the tiramisu was good, but I wasn't entirely satisfied with the sbrisolona and meringue cream because of the quantity. I expected something more generous (given the price), especially since it was really good. As for the quality/price ratio, I'd say it's in line with the area and the quality of the products.

The welcome, service, and quality were top notch! The dining room was a little noisy today, but ultimately, it was welcoming! 😉

Last night, we had a company dinner with a pre-arranged menu for €45, consisting of a first course, a second course, dessert, water, wine, and coffee. First course: a small portion of pasta, reminding me of kindergarten dishes with tomato and the aroma of sausage; second course: grilled steak (very good) or boiled meat with pears, no side dishes, not even for the decoration of the dish. If we wanted it, they asked for a surcharge on the €45! Dessert: a small piece of pandoro with a dollop of mascarpone cream. I wonder if a historic restaurant can present dishes like this, neglecting both its image and its customers. Totally dissatisfied.

Christmas dinner with colleagues. Good service, friendly waiters, I liked the food, but I'm not particularly picky. The Pearà was too dense; some called it burnt or too peppery, but I didn't think it was burnt and was actually quite peppery, but "pepata" is its name, so I didn't find anything strange about it. Tastes vary. The radicchio risotto with Monte cheese initially seemed a bit bitter and lacking in salt, but as I ate it, I realized the flavor was balanced and creamy, and I really enjoyed it. While lacking in salt, it's great for your health, and if someone likes it saltier, just add salt and that's it. Amaro (Montenegro) was offered at the end, which was very welcome. Maybe a little, considering €45 was a lot for this dinner, but whatever. The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned, like it's from the 70s, but I'm not an expert in that area, and on the one hand, I found it familiar, but on the other, it seemed a bit dull. The large fireplace at the entrance to the room, lit and used for cooking, is striking.

Mixed boiled meat was good but poor. They didn't come by to ask if we wanted anything else. The sauces were too few for 4 people. Pear was only bread. Little broth and little pepper. You couldn't taste the marrow. They made it better once. The appetizer was small and too expensive. Good desserts. Poor and slow service. Only 2 people for a room full of customers. The bill, however, was very high. I don't think I'll go again. Dissatisfied.
