The dish I recommend, and which I've eaten twice, is the Dolomite lamb, tender and flavorful. The rosé I posted was a good wine. The ricotta dessert was also good, and they even accommodated me with half portions. It's just a shame they don't use the large panoramic terrace in high season.

The service is good, and the food is meant to mimic, but not too closely resemble, gourmet cuisine.
The price is too high, but without elaborate or difficult-to-execute dishes, making it unjustified.
Finally, the only available suite is priced at €500 a night...a real disgrace, given that it's only occupied (according to the owner) for about twenty nights a year.

Excellent lunch. Cavatelli with cherry tomatoes and parsley pesto for two. Delicious. Excellent sautéed potatoes. Very friendly staff. We'll definitely be back. And you should too!

We had a wonderful meal: we had appetizers with zucchini and black pig, followed by two main courses of capocollo CBT (cooked and cured pork shoulder) and lamb with potatoes. The staff was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is cozy, located at one of the entrances to the beautiful village of Castelmezzano. It's advisable to book the day before, otherwise you won't be able to find a table, especially during peak tourist periods.

Questo ristorante è un istituzione a Castelmezzano e sono ritornato dopo um po di anni. I punti forti sono sicuramente la bellezza della location, qualità delle materie prime e personale cortese e disponibile. Detto questo, i punti critici sono i prezzi da ridurre di almeno un 20% (95 euro per 2 antipasti e 2 secondi + acqua!) e il servizio ai tavoli che risulta spesso confuso e disorganizzato. Il locale ambisce ad un target di clienti alto al pari di uno Stellato non avendone le capacità organizzative e professionali del personale (purtroppo la buona volontà e la cortesia non bastano!). Dovrebbe a mio parere riprendere l'identità di una ottima trattoria lucana senza badare troppo alle luci e paiette della cucina gourmet!
